Blood Pressure

I have used clonidine for BP, made me feel dizzy/hypo/seeing stars at times and would make me sleep like a log... My BP is OK now, it jumped a bit when I started rhGH, first week on it was hovering around 132/80, settled down quite a bit since.

After years of off and on gear/hgh/slin use I just don't think hgh is the magical fountain of youth people think it is. Between high BG, low thyroid and high BP people start taking more drugs to counter the hgh and then they end up with 6 different side effects with no real health benefits. Same with guys running trt, now 100mgs test/week and 1 iu hgh/day I can get behind, but 4-5iu hgh daily with 250mgs test just seem to have too many negative sides.

Nothing is better for longevity than zero drugs (provided all systems are functioning) for sure. It's actually looking like even high-normal replacement TRT with esterified compounds causes real problems, HCT, etc. I agree with you, but I and I know others want to minimize the risks and maximize the benefits that are real also. That can be done (but never with the same level of risk that comes with being natural).

Just to clarify I wasn't saying trt is unhealthy, but the standard 250-350mgs/ew should be more like 100-150mgs/ew.

Any side effects with the Clonidine?

At 200mcg three times a day, it worked just ok. However, it slowed my heart down a lot and really seemed to affect my exercise performance. The rebound hypertension when you try to reduce dosage or quit is also no joke. With the Valsartan, I was finally able to reduce dosage to 100mcg three times a day. Heart rate is normal, and my exercise performance has improved greatly. My blood pressure is oftentimes still too low (this is my third week of using the combination) so I may look at reducing the Clonidine even further. I would love to be completely off of it.

Wow.

Ok, I am starting to think the folks with higher blood pressure or trouble controlling it do not want to post in this thread.

Where are you?

Guessing a lot of people either don't track, are young and have no issues, or are young and invincible (like a lot of us were once). And I feel you on the numbers posted - I'm reading them thinking "That looks pretty much like if I went and posted my BG levels in a diabetics discussion..."

Of four readings this AM 136/85 was the worst, 120/82 being the best. Things that fuck with mine reliably are stress, lack of sleep, sodium, stimulants. Of these, sodium is about the only one I can manage reliably - maybe quitting my job would help with the others. Aspirin doesn't really seem to do shit for me, neither does cardio, LISS or HIIT.

What stims do you take? I strongly recommend quitting all stims aside from a few cups of coffee per day. I'm an ex smoker and also use to use pre workout supps packed with stims back in the day and NONE of that shit is worth developing any kind of heart issue.

Yeah, lots of different PWOs. They pretty much got me through 80 - 100 hour weeks during quarantine. Even now, 5 hours would be a good night. Unfortunately, even when I stop taking PWOs entirely it doesn't seem to make a lot of difference. I don't smoke except for the occasional cigar, don't drink, and don't get high. Boring old fucker working himself to death at this point, really.

How do folks here get blood work done so frequently? Flexible docs or just out of pocket? Prices I'm seeing listed online for voluntary blood work are insane. I haven't had any done since 2019, but my blood markers always came back good when I was getting them regularly, other than elevated RBC, hemoglobin, and hcrit. I may need to look into self-phlebotomy to augment donations if that's the problem. Or figure out HTF to get off of TRT after 8 years on...

Pre workout stims are not good for you IMHO so best to avoid that shit brother to help keep your heart happy. Heart problems are NOT any fun...trust me on this :)

As for bloodwork I just tell my doc I want to see how my numbers are and he orders bloodwork. If there's other stuff I think I need to be tested I just mark it on the paper before I get bloods pulled. You in Canada? If so you pay for health care through taxes so blood work a few times a year is well within your rights! I do blood work every 3 months now my friend :)

Nope, USA. Can't even find a doc in my area right now. They're all "not taking new patients" around here, and when they are most of them are complete assholes. It look me like 5 years to find my old doc, who was super cool and helpful, but retired.

Maybe there's a way to work it through urgent care. Probably worth a shot.

I believe in the USA there's companies that do by mail blood testing? Pretty sure guys here from down south have posted about this, but will have to look around.

Perhaps make a post in steroid forum asking for info......guys will totally help you out with info ;)

Urgent Care won't help you either. It's complete bullshit how they deal with blood pressure for people who do not have a PCP. I also went through idiocy of calling GP's in the area, and all of them have waiting lists 6+ months. Want to see a specialist, like a nephrologist that could also prescribe BP meds? Nope, you need a referral from your PCP. Urgent Care won't do shit because they want you to be monitored. They will not prescribe anything. Maybe they will give you a dose of something there or the ER, but that's it. I get the intent, but they constantly harp about hypertension, yet when it comes down to ascribing importance to YOUR hypertension, all they have is "sorry we aren't taking new patients" or "new patients are about 8 months out." That's specifically why I only go to the doctor anymore only when I absolutely have to like for a bladder infection after I've put my dick in unclean places. I finally figured out my blood pressure on my own, and for all of the stress and aggravation the medical system put me through to get to this point, I would like to invite them to lick my balls.

Is there no walk in clinics where you're from?

privatemdlabs and RHINO saves like 15%, I think. It's pretty cheap.

Thanks - I appreciate the heads up, but that's one of the places I found. I guess it depends on how you'd define pretty cheap, but the "anabolic steroid test panel" is $320 - 620 there. I might swing $320, but $620 is nuts. To me at least.

I *completely* understand the sentiment. I have been fucked over by countless docs over the past decade or so. It gutted me when my good doc retired without telling me.

Anyhow, I was thinking more about blood work via an urgent care than a script.

Then do not get that panel. What items are you wanting to test? I normally pay less than a hundred bucks and less than 200 if I am doing IGF-1, too.
