Daily Log to 2019 Show Season

Currently on a health phase here; looked at the schedule and what was in-front of me for “life” and how I was feeling and decided my time was going to be best spent getting myself completely prepared and in the best spot for a blast later this year. After that, hit a few months of coasting and letting the weight settle in, then prep for a qualifier and nats.

I had pushed too quickly and a bit too hard and some minor health markers weren’t playing well with me. I’m a bodybuilder, but also a dad, a husband, a son, and a brother, and driving myself into the dirt just isn’t my idea of the game.

For the last few weeks I’ve just ate intuitively; if i wasn’t hungry I didn’t eat. If i was hungry I kept it clean. If I really wanted a cheat or a beer I had it. Am about to get back on a plan, targeting ~325-350p/~300c/~75f and just cruising along. Reducing total cals, keeping cardio in, hoping to come out well rested and primed for a huge offseason.

Some current shots below. Sitting around 210-212. 200mg test (right around 1000ng/dl).

Supps: Berberine, Boron, Curcumin, Ashwaganda, Carditone, Grape/Celery Seed, Bergamot, Potassium, Magnesium

Cardio is starting at 20m 4x a week.

Training is a modified PPL:
1. Pull (back/bis/deads) + calves
2. Push (chest/tri focus with “maintenance” delt work)
3. Off
4. Arms + calves
5. Legs
6. Off

I’m using Victor Blacks progression scheme and love it:
Week 1: 5-6 straight failure sets, 6 pump sets
Week 2: 5-6 failure sets with 1 rest pause each, 6 pump sets
Week 3: 5-6 failure sets with 2 rest pauses each, 6 pump sets
Week 4: 5-6 failure sets with 3 rest pauses each, 6 pump sets
Week 5: revert to week 1 with a heavier weight and repeat

Set totals above are per day, not per muscle. Week 1-2 are “deload”ish, but still pushing to failure. Weeks 3 and 4 are brutal.

Glad to know you’re still alive man, you still look great.

I myself have also not been as diligent as before, had some changes in my life and haven’t been able sometimes to train as regularly, and to be as strict with my diet.

It’s actually a funny coincidence that we are in a similar situation.

Peace man, and thanks for sharing your details.

So I’m starting to feel “better” from what made me call my blast off. Physically my HR is coming down, sleep is a bit better (but still a problem), fasted and post-prandial bg coming down. BP is being stubborn, so that’s my major focus in the next 4 weeks. Mentally I’m motivated to get going again and feel the itch for the day to day grind that is trying to add weight for me.

By October 1 I will have been on cruise for 10-12 weeks (i forget the exact date) and if my health markers and blood work look good, will be planning for a 16 week growth period.

Figured I’d lay out my plan and adjust over the next few weeks as needed.

Food: high protein, moderate fat, and ever increasing carbs, as always. My biggest challenge is always the shear amount of cals I need to eat. So this go I will be fucking with blending some meals and drinking them. Protein from eggs, whites, steak, chicken, and whey. Carbs from rice, potatoes, bagels. Fats from eggs and steak, trace elsewhere.

Training: day one of the blast will be day 1 of week 1 of the training scheme outlined above. After completing two full cycles of it, I plan to do a volume “deload” (removing failure sets and using a true volume approach with lower loads while keeping stimulus high, just in a new way). After a few weeks of volume, back to the RP scheme. Durations of each ill play by how I am feeling/progressing.

Split will be a modified PPL but with liberal use of days off. Volume period may go to a bro-split or stay PPL.

Gear: undecided but currently considering the following. Goal here is to let the food do the work, step away from higher impact compounds (I’ve used deca a lot in my gear years), stay problem free, eating huge, and training hard.

Week 1-6
Test - 750
Primo - 750

Weeks 7-8
Test - 750
Primo - 1000

Weeks 9-10
Test - 750
Primo - 1000
Anadrol - 50mg ED

Weeks 11-12
Test - 750
Primo - 1000
Anadrol - 50mg ED
??? (Some oral at a low dose, health wise I do great with orals, as long as my appetite stays; dbol, sdrol, etc)

Weeks 13-14
Test - 750
Primo - 1000mg
Anadrol - 50-75mg ED
??? - ramped up

Weeks 15-16
Test - 750
Primo - 1000
Anadrol - 75-100mg ED
??? - ramped up

gH and slin: 2-4iu gH, slin use will be kept to pulses of 2-3 weeks and played by ear given glucose response to gH and my eating. Both lantus and novolog on the table. My gH insulin doses stay pretty low compared to a lot of people pushing heavy into this territory.

Tren in the last few weeks is an ace card I try to hold and not plan to pay unless I’m truly stuck. Same goes for any increases/additions in the last few weeks on any compound: If I am making solid progress they will not be added/upped.

Just did my first blended meal experiment as I’ve realized I probably need to do so to hit my cals for growth and not distend my stomach like crazy..

8oz chicken
1 cup rice
water to blend

Def went down faster than a meal. Need something to add to offset the smell of chicken but...it works...
