Dogs

Thank you too for the reply BIG :).

Yes I have seen them write tramadol for dogs and mine. My dad takes that stuff. I believe it converts to opiod derivatives similar to Codeine derivative lines, but don't recall for sure. Seems like I charted it out as pretty lightweight stuff, so never even bothered to try it. I believe the classify it as an "analgesic", which they also classify Tylenol - however it turns out that is just a generalized Greek nomenclature indicating "anti-pain". SO there are no lines to be drawn by that particular form of qualification per say.(as comparing for purpose of "Tylenol Safety in Dogs"..).. But I KNOW it is NOT a Narcotic, at least in the first pass metabolism. Then perhaps it may resemble further weakened "blood born relatives".

So I am going to research now. WHY HAVE I ALWAYS HEARD "DON'T GIVE YOUR DOG TYLENOL"??? And to find out - Is it just cause folks are too stupid to dose them correctly per LB, or is there a fundamental metabolic incompatibility???!!!????[/SIZE] I am guessing the first as I can imagine dumbasses shoving a couple of exta-strength Tylenol dog a 10 lb dogs throat seeing it as "OK", since they eat three of four on bad headache days.. LOL Poor pooches.. And I guess the publicized "Safety" in aspirin for dogs being that its not gonna stomp out a major organ on a mild overdose, and the normal market products not being ramped up in quantity, via the common U.S./Roman BIG GULP mentality...:D;):drooling: Tylenol is probably MORE NON-Linear in actual achieved "analgesic returns " due to its ALIEN ORIGINATIONS.. (LOL- and reference to another thread JK:D) But actually, if you can feed people Tylenol and not dogs - THEN MORE THE ALIEN PROOF LOL (no, I NEVER STop with it LOL)

** ON A SIDE NOTE - I cant tell you how disturbing it is while researching this matter to see veterinarians PROMOTING PREVICOX and RYMYDYL over pain meds. THATS THE SAME KIND OF HORSE SHIT that Human docs do when they sit there and tell ya that Vioxx is SAFE and a better alternative for MILD Arthritis over Narcotics and for TWO RESONS 1. Chicken shits have vagina brains (that goes for male and female docs, just slight variance). 2. They are too fucking ignorant to know how to properly treat a patient. 3. They are so scared of litigation due to current social PSYCHOSIS RAMPANT, & 4. THEY ARE ALL BOUGHT OFF by BIG PHARMA via minimally SOUND BLOW JOB TECHNIQUE in Pharma Sales Reps... So they allow the first THREE to service their personal dementia. Assholes....!. OF COURSE (and the best part), they would NEVER accept currency in exchange for preferential BIASED and INCORRECT script writing as PRODUCT PROMOTION - Because THAT would be IMMORAL...
L..........
O...........
L.............

Oops I did it again... BACK ON TRACK..
So apparently the same horseshit is going on in the world of medical care for our pets. But of course... But shit, whats the difference. While a dog cant tell a tale, neither can a dead man, or a stroked out one for that matter. Oh I forgot, Even if we were only maimed and could still speak, the courts WON'T HEAR US DO TO The legal protection they are afforded for being patron saints... ENOUGH...

Acetaminophen (Tylenol) Toxicity in Dogs - Page 1

Excerpt..: (By: Dr. Anne Marie Manning)
"Acetaminophen is a medication commonly used to alleviate fever and pain. Common brands include Tylenol®, Percoset®, aspirin free Excedrin® and various sinus, cold and flu medications. Dogs most commonly receive toxic amounts of acetaminophen because owners medicate them without consulting a veterinarian. They also consume tablets that are dropped on the floor or left lying around.

Dogs are less sensitive to acetaminophen than cats. For example, a 50 pound dog would need to ingest over seven 500 mg tablets in order to suffer toxic effects. In the cat, one 250 mg acetaminophen tablet could be fatal.
In addition to severe liver failure, acetaminophen causes damage to red blood cells. These include:
• Hemolysis, which is the destruction of red blood cells
• Formation of Heinz bodies, which are defects in red cells that cause them to be removed from circulation sooner than normal
• Formation of methemoglobin, a non-functional type of hemoglobin. Hemoglobin allows red blood cells to carry oxygen. When methemoglobin is formed, red blood cells cannot carry oxygen and the cat has difficulty breathing.
"

One thing I note is the Dog to Cat comparison. They give a weight on the dog, and not weight on the cat (as aren't they all the same:p).. SO it takes about (7) of those CATS to equal that dog...?!.... Well FUKIN DOUOUOUUUUUUGH Is the US POPULATION this fucking STUPID...!! And I DO see the math is not dollar for dollar, so she is saying the poor tiny little kitty liver cant handle it...

So I'm just not finding anywhere that says there is some fundamental INCOMPATABILITY in dogs as pertaining to their ability to take Tylenol.. I'm gonna check with vet and call it a day on that one..

Next time I come back to this thread I will be focusing on Narcotics in dogs, and WHY should I have all the fun? When after all she has brought me so much pleasure, love, and incomparable loyal trust. And NEVER COMPLAINED OF MY ANTICS ONCE....! (if my wife were only 1/4 the dog she is...!) And that concept intersects multiple dementias...! LOL But I'm thinking my girl might like a tab or two...

And It may just turn out that I put her on the Tramadol for the rest of her days. But of course I am going to have to now try some to see what I am giving her. Its only right... LOL Truthfully, and based on what my dad says about that stuff, I am wondering the value. Also the point of the synergy of action between the Tylenol and hydrocodone is under spoken in the medical scientific community. there is apparently a lot to it, which is why docs don't ever really write the hydro concoctions with aspirin or Advil...

BBC3 my dog recently lost a leg and they gave her tramadol for a couple weeks. Same stuff as for human use.

They dosed her at 50 mg every 8 hours she is approx 25 lbs
My wife also has script for it and I would say its different than codeine, hard to describe, milder maybe but it kinda gives me an energy boost, less narcotic feeling.

Machiko (also called Mishi), a member of the Massachusetts Canine Rescue Team, was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of bone cancer, WCVB reports. Handlers made the difficult decision to put the 5-year-old black Labrador to sleep. But before they did, they conducted one last search mission with her inside Hopkinton State Park on Tuesday night. The search wasn't real — a member of the team pretended to be in need of rescue — but Mishi, only able to run on three legs due to the cancer, participated with incredible gusto. Footage of the ceremonial search was about as emotional as it gets. Mishi's handler Russ Doucette told WCVB, "She's my partner, she's my friend, and she's a family member." While fighting back tears, Cheryl Oetting, another handler, told the TV station, "When you train a search dog, you spend thousands of hours together. It creates a bond that's very strong." Mishi was scheduled to be put to sleep on Wednesday morning, according to WCVB. Doucette told the station, "I hope that the story gets out about how hard these people work, and how much they sacrifice to get themselves and their dogs ready to help people that do get lost."

Dachshund Left at Shelter with Heartbreaking Note Will Reunite with Owners

An elderly couple who left their 13 ½ year old Dachshund tied outside of the Baldwin Park Animal Shelter near Los Angeles with a note asking for him to put to sleep because they could not afford to care for him will be reunited with the dog.

The heartbreaking note reads, "Our dog is 13 1/2 years old he is sick starting yesterday with bloody stools, vomiting. Had a skin disease for a few years. We are both seniors, sick with no money. We cannot pay for vet bills, or to put him to sleep. He has never been away from us in all those years, he cannot function without us, please put him to sleep."

Instead, shelter workers called Leave No Paws Behind, Inc., an all breed, all foster based rescue that specializes in seniors, who picked up the dog and initially named him Harley. When the dog was taken to a veterinarian, it was determined he could not only be treated, but most likely had a "couple of more years" left in him, according to an update on the organization's Facebook page.

The rescue realized the little dog had been well-cared for and according to the note, very much loved, so they decided to try to reach out to the dog's owners.

When the dog owners came forward, they explained they are indeed both sick and cannot even afford their medical treatments or tires for their vehicle. They had taken their dog, who is actually named Otto Wolfgang Maximus, to a veterinarian and were told that they would need to run costly tests. When they realized they couldn't even afford to have their dog euthanized by the vet, they were "hysterical" and didn't know what else to do aside from leaving him at the shelter.

"We just are living week to week," one of the pet parents, who wished to remain anonymous, told KTLA in an interview. "We can't even go to the hospital to get our treatment."

Although they had read the judgments people were making about their decision after the story was made public, they reached out to the rescue anyway. "I was in tears when I realized that their love for this darling little man outweighed their fear of what people may say about them and I knew instantly, our decision to try to reunite Otto with his humans was the right decision!" reads the post on Leave No Paws Behind.

The organization believes the Otto's owners loves him very much and just felt they had no other choice. "Ninety eight percent of the rescues we take in belong with us," said Toby Wisneski, founder of Leave No Paws Behind. "There are 1-2 percent of owners who love their animals very much and just believe they have no other option but to surrender them."

Wisneski has decided to make the couple a permanent foster for Otto and return the dog to them with the provision they can make regular, weekly visits to the home. The organization will maintain the cost of Otto's food and veterinary care for the rest of his life.

The couple lives outside of California and was on a ministry trip when they dropped Otto at the shelter. They will pick the dog up at the end of the month when they are able to get enough money to purchase new tires for their vehicle.

According to Pet Insurance Zone, the average cost of a visit to the vet has soared to $190 for cats and $360 for dogs. The cost rose 64 percent between 1998 and 2006.

The cost of having a beloved pet euthanized is not cheap, either. One veterinarian paper put the total cost between $150-$800, which includes veterinarian services, drugs and cremation.

According to the most recent study by the National Council on Pet Population Study and Policy (NCPPSP), a total of 13 percent of the dogs relinquished by owners to shelters is due to the financial inability to care for the animal, personal problems or a pet's illness. An estimated 1.5-3.5 million animals each year are relinquished to shelters by their owners.

Wisneski said pet owners should check with local rescues and shelters, many of which have accounts to help owners in financial crisis. Leave No Paws Behind even has a memorial fund set up to help people with euthanasia if they cannot afford it and the pet is terminally ill.

Rescuing a Pit Bull who just wanted to be loved. A MUST SEE!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n37Q5RoaNn8

They are such loving and affectionate dogs. It's such a shame what people do to them. It's especially heartbreaking to know that it is their loyalty and need to please that is so easily and maliciously turned against them.

Someone once said to me "you can't save them all" and they were right but I can spoil the shit out of this one.uploadfromtaptalk1399739498785.jpg

This is a real positive thread and I don't want to bring it down but just want to say our 11 year old Labrador x Border Collie died 3 days ago. Wife and kids are shattered and I've been dealing with vets etc and haven't had time to think about how much he'll be missed. That was up until my first work our since. He always laid next to the gym watching and waiting for me to finish so he could follow me back inside. My groaning, swearing and throwing weights around never phased him. First weights session and I kept looking over and expected to see him :( certainly a member our our family and got to say, a mans best friend

Truly sorry to hear that element. I completely understand your pain. We recently had to put down our oldest female and it honestly is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Really really sorry for your loss.

Dogs have become more of a part of my life than I ever imagined they would be. Around 15 years ago I got my first akita "kayla" incredible dog. I swear she was more human than dog. Well I fell in love with the breed. Long story short my wife and I now have 5 akitas and breed and show. My 10yr old daughter had her first show today as a jr handler. I am so proud of her!!!!! She did so well. And it is truly amazing to see a little girl control a 130lb animal just amazing thing to see!!!!!!!! Just a proud papa today and had to tell the world.

The most ubiquitous dog in the U. S.—the dog in whose face we see our collective reflection—is now the pit bull.

Which makes it curious that we as a culture kill as many as THREE THOUSAND of them per day.

THREE THOUSAND A DAY.

[AND, MOST OF US KNOW THAT IS LOW. INCLUDE THOSE ABUSED, TORTURED, ... THE NUMBERS ARE STAGGERING.]

** DISCLAIMER - I am not endorsing ALL Pits. And I am NOT condemning ALL Brown Chows.... Common sense applies. Its AMAZING how stupid people are today when dealing with animals...!

Yea, fuking tards out there breeding dogs for sport - Fucked up. It's probably the only reason our alien superiors don't wipe the slate clean on this planet for employing human birth control thus impeding their "experiment"... LOL

Pits HAVE A BAD RAP with regard to human interaction. I would not trust one alone with my small children's friends around, but only due to their FAMILY/human protective nature. Its the epitome of insult to these dogs to sparr them for pleasure when they are a loyal breed. You don't normally see pits going after people unless raised as tormented. I've seen Black Labs which were absolutely ravenously crazed because DUMB-FUCKS had them staked to the middle of their back yard of a chain thus driving them INSANE. And they really wonder how so many people wind up in a cage for as little as "drug use"/ Perhaps they are medicating something more..?!?

NOW YOU WANT A DOG THAT MIGHT NEED PUTTING DOWN for the sake of the breed...? A nice Brown Chow OWNS THE LIST. Whatever the Chinese did tweaking these animals, it has made them have some kind of complex as to BEING SUPERIOR to human beings. Oddly, the more intelligent (or intuitive/not sure) you are, the more challenging they become. Look one in the eye for more than a second or two and see if it don't come at ya. SPECIFICALLY, be warned of the BROWN Chow. The black ones I have met seem more tempered and normal. I suspect if they are brown they are too "bred up" and pretty much dealing with an INSANE amount of something... I guess I got the scarr I deserved for dealing with a fool that spoon fed it. Literally. Still, I ran into a couple more of them a couple years later in a NICE pin in a back yard. Those bastard were growling like nothing you have ever heard in your life AND while at the same time BOOTING on the chanlink fence with their front paw - AS IF TO CONTROLLABLY KICK. Some scary shit just walking withing 50 feet of that kennel.. Finally, the one that bit me that time was so fucking cocky, it did not even go for the throat (when it could have). It just latched into my chest ripping a big'ol wound open upper pec... Shit... Maybe the problem is that they ARE Humanized...!?!
