Don’t call it a comeback

Alright my brothers...We got a closing date of next week for our house (FINALLY), so I started really cracking down on a list for my home gym. I’m pretty sure I’ve covered damn near everything for my budget.

Few questions:
-Is the Reverse hyper / GHR worth getting?
-If I get the GHR / hyper, is the back extension redundant?
-Should I sub something out for the DL bar, or keep lifting on a stiff bar for now?
-am I missing anything that I didn’t think of?

I’m maxing out a credit card bro lmao.

I’ll probably end up building the blocks like you said. The stuff on the bottom is stuff I’ll pick up afterward.
 
You can cut up 3/4" horse trailer mats for block pulls. Highly adjustable and could be bought for under $100. Belt squats you can buy a Spud Inc belt squat belt and just stand between two platforms of some kind. It's better with free weight than any type of machine in my opinion. The lever type belt squatting hurts my knees a little. Get a deadlift bar with the money saved on those. 100% you will not regret a good deadlift bar.

I forgot you mentioned those horse mats before. Awesome idea.

Good call on the belt squat too...That saves like $600 that I can put toward the DL bar and something else. Maybe some chains.
 
Yeah I had it in the original lineup, but I think I took it out to make room for the reverse hyper. I’m kinda excited to see what my pull will be on a DL bar though. Possibly mid to high 6’s in the near future??

Perhaps, depends on your deadlift style and is more pronounced with heavier weight. Should add a few pounds right off the bat.

5200 total. I’ve made a few tweaks since posting, tho. It may come closer to 5500, depending on the shipping cost from EliteFTS. It’s what credit cards are for lmao.

My set up was 2700 plus 200 shipping. Not high end stuff but will get the job done. I will build on it and upgrade certain things as time goes on. Got a few firehall buddies wanting to partake but I wouldnt charge them lol.
 
I decided to forego any resemblance of strength training until I get my own gym set up. For now I’m just working strictly on conditioning...and judging by how dead I am right now, I need it.

50 yard sled drag sprints (Car tire + 80lb kid lol)

Max effort Sledgehammer hits x15-20

+

95lb clean and press x5-8


1-3 minute rest, repeat x8

me, in the other hand...I had no idea how grueling “sprinting” with weight is. Farmers walks a one thing, but damn sled drags are crazy. It only makes me wanna get better at them though.

Found one used as well but wife said I have spent enough for now and to wait lol... there are a couple big truck tires at the fire hall. I am thinking of setting them up as a circuit. Drag x number of feet then 20 hits on the tire with sledge hammer then drag back and 20 more hits.

Yeah man, once I get set up I wanna get a sled or a prowler. The workout I got from just the tire was insane.

So the fire hall is still open but they closed the fitness room? Did they close the bathrooms too?
