Jay Max Log (Switching from BB to PL and a place to BS)

9 October 2015
Intensity Day aka Bug Out

So as Ive said my gym only has one squat rack (also the only place to do OHP). Both were on the menu today, but some big fat guy was on there doing set after set of squats at 135
I didnt get too upset, as a friend constantly reminds me, we all had to start somewhere.

Bench - while I waited
185 x 4
225 x 3
250 x 2
275 x 5 - this was next weeks 5RM
315 x 3
345 x 1 - this was a new max, but I was actually more excited repping at 315. First time Ive done that many.

And I waited, and waited...

Squats
135 x 4
185 x 3
225 x 2
275 x 1
310 x 5

Deadlift
205 x 4
295 x 3
330 x 5
370 x 1

OHP
Bar x 10
95 x 4
145 x 3
180 x 5 - My shoulders were hurtin. Like the way your legs feel after a heavy session.

I might take more than the regular 2 days off for recovery.

For anyone who's run halo...Ive read the profiles, but I want some personal experience.

How much did you take?
How long?
Side effects?

Thanks.

30 or 40mg during the meet. Def don't go that high. 10-20mg should be plenty. Don't run it for long either. It's gonna set you up for some PRs

Thanks.
Another question. When do i go down to 3RM from 5RM? Just asking because the TM app stops after 6 weeks. I didnt know if I should just plug my new numbers in and start over.

345 flat bench?
Pretty good man.
I have no idea what mine is.
Haven't tried since high school

Yes. Flat.
Im sure looking at your last log and numbers you coulds do a lot more. But Im pretty happy. The worst part about when I got sick earlier this year wasnt the weight / muscle I lost, but it was that I lost all my strength.

I've always found my rep numbers are not correlated with max effort. Maybe because I have dominant fast twitch fibers. Idk. My rep numbers aren't all great. You like that too?

They havent been, but truthfully I never tried too much when it got to high weights. Like when I got above 300 I never did reps, I would do one or two and move to a higher weight. This program is the first time Ive actually put in the effort (which is probably why Im so sore all the time now that the weights are getting higher).

For example,

The 225 flat bench NFL combine style. I don't perform particularly well here. Most linebackers in the NFL will be in the 21-26 rep range. I'm not.

I feel subhuman :(

I've been off cycle for 4 weeks now. Dropped cals in half. With my new dose of 150 I feel very normal. Not what you want if progress is your goal. But I'll stay like this till december. A forced deload you can say. I believe the body needs rest. From drugs, weights and food. Lost some weight and strength for sure. For God sakes just 4 weeks ago I was barbell incline pressing 300x8 for 4 sets. Yesterday I barely managed 265x5 for 1 set :(
Good call man. Your CVS thanks you. Long haul shit.

I see you're making some progress Jay. How are you feeling about this program? Hows the squat depth coming along?

@insertnamehere, I missed you. But in a manly way.
As far as the program. I dont love it. Or like it. Yes im making progress, I just dont feel like im doing enough volume. I see a few of the other PL logs on here and they seem to give you more volume and strength gains. But I am going to finish this. Since im a beginner I know i gotta start small.

My depth has actually improved a lot. Ill try to post a video soon. I had some trouble the last few weeks but I blame the superdrol...so I dropped it and felt great my last workout.

Hope all is well. Never leave again. I have people that will look for you. Ask TEKs silloutte!

Since I dropped the SD a little over a week ago I decided to try out this Halo. Going with 20mg/day. We will see how this goes.
Ive seen it increases strength and aggression. And that sounds perfect. Walking around crazy strong and angry. I can finally reach my ultimate goal...
