Meso Powerlifting Corner

Have you guys seen the math done about Goku vs Superman and their strength levels? In the first season of dbz Goku was already like 10x stronger than Superman.

I know but being sarcastic but I thought it was cool that someone figured itbout

I saw a website that also compared them both to the Punisher and it said that he was smarter and more ruthless and would shoot em in the balls!*

*I may have made this whole thing up

Bless me lord for I have sinned  I needed to use straps for my final 2 working sets of deadlifts, I've lost my hookgrip caluses and the pain was beyond what I wanted to deal with. I'm sorry to all of those whom I've let down this is simply inexcusable:(
Don't stress it, idc what people say, I train with straps regularly, and have yet to pull a weight that I couldn't pull with mixed grip for a single rep. I just won't train mixed grip bc I can't alternate my pronated and supinated hands comfortably, and I feel not doing so creates imbalances , especially in my shoulders. Also, just can't master hookgrip. I think I have short fat fingers so it makes it difficult :-\

I'm trying to remember because it was ages ago but...

The most memorable part that made it especially creepy was in that town with the blocked pass and you go to the police station to try and get a pass. The cop tells you he'll help you and leads you through the police station to a room - empty with 5 cops. First time I've seen police brutality as a story device in a SNES game lol.

It sounds tame when you write it out but it gets dark fast when you think about it especially with the art style of the game and everything, and the fact the main character is a kid...

I forgot the police brutality. Okay, I had to Google it because it was driving me crazy, but the training with Poo where they pluck his eyes out, tear out his tongue and his ears and he's in darkness unable to speak. Very dark for a kid's game. The last boss was really crazy, too.

'Hidden' image of a fetus..yeah. I remember that final boss.

Im going to agree with this. Strap use is warranted sometimes. We are working hamstrings and back. Not grip. If we want to work grip we will get items such as

The captains of Crush
Rolling Thunder.

Iver tried both and they are crazy tough

So back to straps vs no straps fuck it. If it means you can dead 100lbs+ more then go for it!

Good old Franco. Those old school guys are still the best in my books.

All these years of lifting and I never do opposing grip. Always pronated when I do deads. Mainly why I use straps. Years of olympic lifting got me into that habit. When I get doing 1rms again I might try it and see how much more weight I can pull

I joke, but its all about your goals. If youre lifting to compete its probably better to never use straps, practice as you play. But if youre not competing I say go for it. I tend not to use them for DL, but I do for rack pulls.

And Im all about opposing grip. Dont understand how the bear does double under hand / hook grip.

While on the subject of deads do any of you guys use the hex/trap bar? I'm not asking if you use it in place of a standard bar I'm just wondering if any of you guys work it in to your routine?

I use one quite a bite. I like how it takes the stress off the lower back
