Yeah I got that vibe. I'm no heavy lifter by any means but I'm confident on my form on the lifts.

Doc's middle name is powerlifting. He really had no choice after that. From the legends he is a descendant of the original powerlifter. The last in the blood line, forced to walk the earth for an eternity lifting heavy stuff for medals. There can only be one...

Yea I like powerlifting. Got over the bodybuilding phase of my life in my mid to late teens. After that it was all about athleticism, strength, speed, power, coordination, etc which body building tends to neglect. I've got a meet under my belt and trying to make a comeback story for a second but that's another story.

Anyway, it's not so much the weight in the bar that matters to them relative to their perception of you, although it does play a part, but more about the intensity and focus you bring to training sessions, the way you attack the bar and weights, your mindset, etc. you're going to push yourself to your limits, which I'm guessing you may already have done judging by your username, but these limits are a little different. Just be ready for it bc once you do an actual meet and get bit by the "bug" there's no looking back.
 
Well fuck boys! After completing this 915 program, I felt weak as hell the first week.. but it must have worked (at least for DL and squat).. I just pulled 475x2 (my last PR double was 455) and pulled 495 super clean and fast. Raw. Missed the double right above the knees. Convinced I coulda pulled 525 or more.

Edited: fixed part of my DL form as well. That may have also lead to the perceived strength increase... I wasn't leaning back on my heels for the initial pull from the ground. O was flat footed, but didn't have my ass down, leaning full weight on my heels. That + learning how to activate my lats have seemed to do wonders.

Nice job bro, you'll hit 500 in no time! Form may have helped, for me thats the lift where a little form correction makes a world of difference, but more weight is more weight.

Thanks man. I think imma try for 545 next time I do max effort.

And I'm sure form plays a pretty big part. If there's one lift where form is absolutely critical for max lifting, it's Deadlift
 
I'm hoping for 600 by January, but I'm not sure I can add 75 pounds that quick haha.
Hell yeah, man! That's my goal too, but I set mine for Xmas (probably a little too early) I'm thinking that spring is probably more realistic for 600

I'm trying for 500 tonight.:D hadn't tried max in awhile but I do 5x5 at 405 so I'm pretty sure it'll happen.

No reason you shouldn't be able to. I do 5x5 with 405 as well. Good luck brother

I can't stand motherfuckers like this guy. He is the epitome of every douche bag bro you could think of, rolled into one fucking never-was body.

This guy is in his mid 50s, does nothing but bro-ego-lifts and brags about the weight he 'used to push'. Motherfucker has supposedly been training for 30yrs, only benches 250ish for 4-5, has a huge gut and doesn't shut the fuck up. Is the guru of every exercise there is, yet has no fucking form when performing any.

Dude has the audacity to try and 'work in' on almost everyone's set, just to try to one-up whoever is using said equipment (Only upper body.
God forbid he does legs)... he'll literally look at what weight you use, put it up 10-20 more pounds and push out a half-assed set, one single fuxking set, and then talk 5 minutes about how good he did, or what "you need to do to push more weight"... I've witnessed him take (one of only 3) free benches from chicks, with their shit still on the bench, then argue with them that he needed it more... I've seen 2 chicks walk out pissed off cos of this.

Fuck. I don't shy away from confrontation, but I like this gym and it's close to my house and has childcare... so I keep to myself. But this motherfucker INSISTS on b-lining to talk to me. I usually train without music but I've been putting headphones on lately and it seems to keep him away, for the most part... dudes just annoying as fuck.

Just hit 505 on deadlift and now he thinks it's time to throw weights during dumbbell press ...on every set even the light ones:rolleyes: guy doesn't like me I made a comment awhile back on his puffy dbol nips after he bragged about being natural and that my trt was practically cheating o_O
