@RodgerThat looks like I'll have the Full Boar Slingshot in about a week. We stopped to eat on the way back from our little trip yesterday and my girlfriend was saying how she didn't know what to get me for Christmas. I named off several things and I guess that one sounded the easiest because she ordered it. She wasn't very subtle in busting out the debit card and I glanced at her phone and saw it. She said at least pretend to be surprised.

Lol nice bro.
I've been ordering a lot of gear lately too. Still waiting on my inzer and ordered some knee sleeves last night.

I'm iffy on knee sleeves, I want them but my ortho has told me better not to use anything. Keeps the knee stronger without according to him.

In my research of them I've seen a lot of opinions that they can leave you worse off than you started. Tons of really strong guys swear by them, too. My knowledge of anatomy and medicine is limited at best, so I don't really know which is right. For now the cost and that possibility of them making you worse off keeps me away from them.

Same here, I've been going without just cause I don't want mine getting any worse.

So first off loving that I'm persuading you guys to get new gear :D you guys will be happy with the purchases I promise, pinky swear.

As for knee sleeves being bad for you it's not true at all, knee sleeves are used to warm up the fluid in your joints as it makes it expand slightly and for all the joints to glide better and warm lubricant is better then cold (ever had ky jelly put on during a winter camping trip and you'll know that for goddamn sure lol)

Knee WRAPS in the other hand have caused some issues for people, if your petella has any issues being stable or more then usual play then you'd have to be extra careful with wrapping. A lot of people when wrapping end up pushing the petella up and to the outside with the pressure of how they wrap and that causes it to be out of line and make contact with a portion of the femur bone that it's not suppose to touch and the result is petella sheer or petella grinding which leads to clicking knees when not using so then they wrap tighter and it's a vicious cycle.

Get knee sleeves they are amazing, also just want everyone to have gear so we can talk about gear :p

@Docd187123 , what's your thoughts on knee sleeves?

They're like a belt. They have their place and will allow you to perform better, more rebound, more support, and keeps the joint warm and mobile. Your doctor is probably right in that all other factors equal the knee without sleeves will be stronger but at the end of the day as your knees get stronger with the sleeve, your knees also get stronger without the sleeve. If in 1yr of training you add 100lbs to your squat with reasonable/judicious use of wraps do you not think your knee will have also gotten stronger to accommodate this new weight?

I really don't need a devil on my shoulder whispering in my ear. My romaleos just arrived yesterday and I've been eyeing some sleeves. You might have just twisted my arm :D

Good analysis, that makes sense to me

Do it brotha! I won't squat more then 70% without my sleeves as I know they are helping prevent injury which keeps me training longer and makes me stronger so therefore knee sleeves are what makes you stronger ;)

Liking those fractional plates. Been thinking about getting some. Where did you get yours from and how much?

I actually got them from a guy on the Starting Strength forums. I was searching all over and came up on a thread there in their "ends and pieces" section where this guy named Dan Miller makes and sells them through the forum. I signed up just to get a set. It's been over a year now, but you might take a look over there.

Was about $35 total, I believe. When I got them the post office had damaged the box and a couple of the small ones fell out. He reshipped them immediately at no cost. Paid through PayPal.

2 1.25's
2 1's
2 0.75's
2 0.625's
2 0.5's
2 0.25's

Edit: wizard above me, I was typing that out between sets and took me forever.

Nice. I planned on starting a log there when I was doing Texas Method, but never did.

I bought another pair of microplates before I found those. They were nearly the same price just for two 1.25's.
