Meso Powerlifting Corner

One thing I havent really done is looked at other PLers. I watch a lot of how to videos, but I dont know who any lf the "famous" lifters are.
You and 99.99999999% of the public Jay. The only ones that know powerlifters are other powerlifters, their families and some guys who do other forms of lifting be it bodybuilding, Olympic lifting or even crossfit.

Ya I got the pleasure of watching the top level guys lift at the commonwealth games in BC a couple weeks ago and you won't even see most of these guys in the how to videos because they don't look anything like the how to videos there lifting it way beyond what I can even fathom!

I feel like I should be more in the know.I do know a little about mendelson. But thats it. Looks like I got some hw.

Does it count that I watch all your videos? Youre my #1 powerlifter MP :D

Late but subbed. Gonna read the whole thread before bed tonight. When I first started lifting my goals were to "look good". Now I'm getting to the point where I care less about how I look and just wanna be able to throw around as much weight as possible. Still excited about my bodybuilding routine but have been putting more focus on the big three lately.

Just a random sampling of this guy's videos, but you guys getting into powerlifting should check them out and his channel. Some great explanations of training manuals and setting up your own programs, peaking for a meet, etc. Dudes a beast and really knows his stuff.

Thanks. Just started watching. Good way to waste time at work.

If anyone else has any helpful videos, please post. Or any videos of good powerlifters I / we should see

Figured if we'd give some videos for them to watch this would be a place to start to pick up some tips for you squat deadlift and bench. Only one note id like to put in here Layne Norton keeps his hands under the bar when squating this does not work for 95% of people going into heavy weight you should adopt a thumb over and straight wrist technique like mark rippitoe demonstrates in the starting strength book.

So for you new to this game here is your basics for deadlift

Your guide for thee ol skwaat

And for your benching needs

There are so so many more to see but this gives you a basic understanding on what will help for leverages and proper form.

I don't really want to litter the thread with videos but people to check out would include: Layne Norton, Jonnie candito if you can stand him he has decent advice mixed in with the annoying crap and of course if you haven't already there is 84 videos on broscience YouTube account for you to watch.
