'Ol lady lifting log

No workout today and tomorrow. My only job is carb loading and as much rest as I can muster while still working 2 jobs (one is 8 hrs on my ass, the other is 7 hrs on my feet)! Friday is only one job, the 8 on my butt. Competition Saturday - with a very good chance for rain. Boooo. On the "menu":
Car deadlift
Keg toss
Fire truck pull (brush truck for the females)
Max log
Atlas stone load

Whoop whoop! Fire Truck pulls sound like a good time to me! ;) or brush truck for us Lol is it a solo event and you just have straps that go around your shoulders?

That sounds so fun!! Might have to convince the guys to try it one of our slow days Lol!
Any recommendations for strength work outs leading up to that? Wouldn't want anyone to get hurt and throw out their back or something...the Chief would have my ass for that Lol

@smashfit - truck pulling is easy really. Just get on all 4s and stay as low as possible. Only thing that it does is KILL your quads - It's about pushing through the burn. Mark off 50 ft and go for it. Nothing to really prepare for it. Just stay low and don't give up! Oh and tiny steps. You want to take big ones but that is wrong. MILLIONS of baby steps - DRIVE, DRIVE, DRIVE!!

Ok so post competition notes.... I won my weight class, but unfortunately there were very few competitors, so doesn't feel like too much of an accomplishment. I have absolutely no idea where all the women were. Mens classes were stacked but I've never seen such a poor turn out for the women. Did fine in the truck pull, keg toss ended up being higher than what I had trained for. Couldn't get the heaviest of the kegs over. :( Log press was my only real true disappointment. I missed a lift I can normally make in the gym. We were in the street - the surface wasn't flat and I felt like I was falling backward. It was just very awkward. All of the competitors made similar comments. Lots of lifts were missed by everyone. I made up the difference in the next two events and pulled way ahead, ending the meet on a high note. My goal on the car deadlift was 30 reps and I managed 31! As for the atlas stone load - my only previous success was on a 155 stone. I didn't have access to anything to train with that was heavier. I did a 155 successfully and also a 175!! I had one more attempt and tried the 210 (which was the next available weight) and ALMOST loaded it. I crashed it into the side of the platform instead of loading it on top. 2 inches higher and I would have had it! I was over the moon and can't wait to start training stones again now that I have heavier ones to work with. My body is quite sore - mostly my back - and it will take a few days to recover. I have a road trip Wed-Saturday so won't get back to my normal training schedule for almost a week. By then I should be 100% and hungry to get back at it!

Found out I'll be leaving a bit later in the morning on Wed - so even though the back is still feeling fatigued I figure I don't have and excuse for not doing SOMETHING today and tomorrow. Staying off my program still since I'll only get in 2 sessions this week so did squat and bench. Did I mention I got more work done on a massive tattoo I'm getting yesterday? My arm is buuuurrrnnniiiinnnggg.
Squat 185x3x3
Then out of no where - even though 185 didn't feel super light I loaded up 205 (my 1 rep max). Did one just fine (too easy really) so decided to go for a double. ALMOST got it - but ultimately did not. No idea what possessed me to try. It's kind of a throw away week so it figure what the heck.
Finished off with 3 sets of 5 @110 bench.

Looks good to me , no shame in a 205 lb squat . You"ll be doing reps w/ 205 by summers end if you stick to it .... ~Ogh

Very good effort no shame in those weights. I also love tattoos on ladies. Trying to talk the wife into one.

tattoos on a woman are sexy. Well as long as they flow nicely. I saw some last time at the beach which just looked like random stickers placed all over the woman...almost like someone threw tattoos on her from a distance. Done right though...they are very feminine and sexy

OK - progress photos (tattoos blurred for obvious reasons). Chose this angle as it shows the main problem area. June 2014, Jan 2015, June 2015. Got a second job in October working graveyards 3 days a week in addition to mon-fri 8-5. Training suffered as did diet. About a 10 lb weight gain in Jan '15. Got my shit together and moved off graveyard in March to evenings. Still working 2 jobs but got my diet fixed and training back up to par. Today I start my very first 5mg anavar. I'll keep my training posted here, but start something in the cycle log as well. Wish I could show my new arm tattoo. It is unfinished but is very pretty and will be completely badass once the color gets added in.
