Perrin Aybara's Journey to an Elite Powerlifting Total

Yeah I would love to cut on 4k but just isn't how my body seems to work unfortunately. I need to be around 3200 to see the scale go down which is pretty crazy at my weight...
You and me both:(
High metabolism problems
I gain muscle easy enough, but fat just kind of clings on

Also, another update I forgot. I spoke with POB yesterday and we'll begin working together again next week. He told me to take it easy this week. So hopefully under his guidance I can get back on track to a 1675 total this fall. He told me to eat or just cut down to 181, lol. I'm excited to be back on the Strength First team.

You feel okay in training though. :)

On a serious note, the body seems to be pretty resilient for the most part. You can probably do some extreme shit without causing too much long term damage - as long as you don't mind feeling like shit everywhere that isn't the gym.

I'll be the first to admit I'm too scared to do that shit. I don't want to explode anything.

I absolutely cannot stand feeling like shit. I've got a really low tolerance to it.

I just got my first one two weeks ago on my arm :) I didn't think I would ever get it but I guess I changed and just went for it. I'm wanting to get some more too.

It's addictive for sure. I think tattoos look good on women though. What made you change your mind?

I got it to remind myself of the meaning/message behind it every time I see it. So I guess I kinda started to understand why people get them :) that and they can look pretty good too. Just been seeing more people with them and I notice and try not to stare lol

Good reason. This last one I got was my first that can't easily be covered. It's on my hand. The rest of mine are mostly covered if I'm wearing a shirt. When I finally put up an elite total at a meet (hopefully this fall) I'm going to get something to commemorate that. Not sure what or where, but it'll be cool. I've got a few others in mind that have meaning to me I'd like to get eventually, too.

I got some stubborn love handles :( slightly visible upper abs, almost flat stomach, no tits but dem handles tho:confused:
I have some love handles myself but they got a bit smaller and as I got relatively wide hips for my frame I won't get rid of them entirely they just will get bonier.

Nice...I now thought of getting a tattoo to commemorate my maternal grandmother's spirit as she took great care of me while I was growing up. She was my 2nd home while I was at college too.

@Eman @weighted chinup

Dave is one of my favorite people to listen to/watch videos of. I just really subribe to his mentality of lifting. I also find it hilarious he post videos of ordering McDonald's morning drive thru on the regular. Missed out on an opportunity to see him speak at a seminar. Still kicking myself in the ass for it.

@Perrin Aybara welcome back to the team!

On the diet front, many of the options I would suggest have already been laid out. And I don't mean to continue to suggest this, but look into dropping your fourth day. I'm pulling this number out of my ass, but I'm sure you probably burn at least around 1k calories that session. So maybe talk with coach about that. I know you're not moving much weight that day, but it could provide extra recovery from resting.

Back to the diet front, cook everything in coconut oil. PB&J is something you could eat very easily on your way to the gym and provide you suitable calories. I also prefer 85/15 beef but you could switch to 80/20. And lastly and most importantly, peanut butter and ice cream. A couple scoops of ice cream or spoonfuls of PB after your last meal will provide you extra calories. I think added a small meal/snack before bed would suit you well.

It's early still... No changes.

I've done it before and it will eat away at muscle quickly if you don't use it correctly. Diet really needs to be on point IMO.
Then it's probably not something I wanna mess with. My diet can get sloppy at times lol

Its gotta be an elite for being elite.

That's def a nice idea, something to look forward to. It'll be exciting :)

210lbs

Comp deadlift 500 for 7x2
Slingshot bench 365 for 3x3

Coach says take it easy this week since we'll be starting new programming next week. Honestly I felt pretty weak today. Once again I'm questioning whether this job is worth it. With the amount of gear I'm on and food I'm eating with a proven program I shouldn't be getting weaker. Dead end jobs are a dime a dozen. Thinking about trying to find another dishwasher gig.

First step is I'm eliminating all my cardio days and bumping calories to 5500 every day. I gotta sit down and rework my macros, but I'm raising carbs for sure. Hopefully this will be enough to start getting stronger again. I feel like I'm wasting the biggest cycle I've ever run to actually lose strength. Doesn't give me much hope for this upcoming cruise if I'm getting weaker on a big cycle. It's not gonna come to that though. Like i said this is more important to me than a dead end job. I'll find another one to get me by until i can start school if necessary.

Also got tomorrow off because the boss is busy and he's out of menial tasks to have me do by myself. So gonna rest tomorrow.

Hang in there...how much time before you start CDL school? The stress has to be the main culprit here.

I have almost zero stress in my life. Why would I? My life is great besides my lifts being down at the moment. I really don't stress after the life I've lived and what I've been through. Every day I'm alive, well and sober is a beautiful day and an opportunity for something great to happen.

Not sure on the school. Depends on when I can get moved and i can't get moved until it stops raining for a week or two. My trailer is stuck in the mud on my property right now about 30-50 feet from the foundation. Can't get out there in the mud.

I need to be settled in before doing anything. I'll probably have to take out a loan to pay for it. I was told there wasn't financial aid, but there's one other school in the area I'm going to check into. Where I'm living now I'd have zero chance of qualifying for financial aid, lol. Once I'm moved into my place I'd qualify for sure if it was available based on my poverty income.
