Perrin Aybara's Journey to an Elite Powerlifting Total

220lbs

Comp squat for speed 15x2 with 370lbs

Static barbell holds up to 855lbs for 4 seconds and almost passed out. Every time i take prednisone my heart gets all irregular at the gym and i almost pass out. 675lbs and 765lbs I think i could hold for 20 seconds or more though.

Got a few sets of 235lbs for 7 on front squats and sets of 10 on chin ups and my heartbeat was just too weird and I stopped. Might discontinue the prednisone before my next gym day.

I'm having a bad reaction to this prednisone they put my on Friday. I took it years ago when I was natty and had the crazy heart palpitations. Had the thing at the gym yesterday and this morning after some morning sex. Went to the kitchen after and my heart was going crazy missing beats and couldn't catch my breath. Looked up the side effects and apparently it's somewhat common, so I'm done taking it. Hoping it doesn't affect my gym session tomorrow.

Also, @theprodgicalson and @Masters Power I missed registration for the meet. I went to sign up last night and they closed it two days before. My girlfriend already got time off work for it, so I'm still coming and bringing my stuff. If a slot opens I'll lift. If not I'll just hang out and help with whatever. With my lifts down at the moment I'm really just wanting to qualify for nationals next year. The qualifying total for 220lbs is super low anyway, like 1350lbs or less.

i would email the meet director and ask if you can get a spot. explain to him everything and im sure he will let you in. Dude was super nice last year. if you need his email, let me know. And if need be, ill give you my slot. im just dicking around and doing DL only anyways.

I'm friends with him on Facebook. I'm just dicking around too because all my lifts are down 50+ pounds each right now. I just need to qualify for nationals at some point, but even with my lifts in the toilet I could hop up from a dead sleep and qualify for nationals.

220lbs

Beltless high bar box squat 335lbs for 3x10
Incline bench 225lbs for 3x10
Bulgarian split squats 155lbs for 3x10
Pendlay rows 185lbs for 3x10

I thought this workout would be easy, but the sets of 10 were kicking my ass. The weight wasn't heavy as much as it was just getting me really winded.

Sets of 10 would destroy me. I've done sheiko for almost 2 years now. Sets of 5 suck bad enough.

I liked Sheiko and plan to run it again sometime. I considered it for a change of pace and decided to come up with my own and get away from low reps for a bit and work my way back down. I've got a rough outline I typed up that progresses from 10 down to 2 that will hopefully put me back where I was a few months ago and add some size along the way while also giving me a mental break. I thought going to school and not working would do that, but it's been the opposite plus a lot of stress.

221lbs

Trap bar deadlift. 405x10, 455x10, 495x10 (I'm assuming the trap bar weighs 45lbs, but I have no idea)

Good mornings 185lbs for 3x10

Farmer's walks up to 405lbs for a few trips back and forth in the gym

I'm gonna start this new routine officially next week and see how things go. This week didn't really go as planned, but I've got an idea where my numbers are for these higher reps.
