Perrin Aybara's Journey to an Elite Powerlifting Total

Fucking awesome. Looking forward to it. With limited lifters it should move quickly and be a fun day.

@theprodgicalson if my knees hold up well enough to give squatting a shot would you mind wrapping me for my attempts.

of course. just tell me how you like them wrapped and ill do it.
same for you @Perrin Aybara

Yeah Masters, it went fairly quick last year. which is nice. its marketed as more of a beginners meet, so there is a lot of first timers. not that i myself am a veteran in this sport by any means with under 2 years experience.

The meets i ever participated in were all marketed as beginners meets. I mean this was early 2000ish. I always wondered what a real "official" comp would look like, ya know?
I may look in to it. Brings back memories

i went to a meet in spring that had 130 lifters on two platforms that was really cool to spectate at. most of the meets ive done have been around 50-60 people, one platform.

Look into it man, theyre cool to just go check out and watch. Had a couple friends that dont really lift come a watch my meet a couple weeks ago and they all thought it was awesome to watch. there are definitely some in your state with some big dogs lifting at them.

Yeah, specifically 1, 18yr old Joseph Pena that squats 1025:eek:
Fuck that. I quit

Goddam it man. Warrior. Father time says no. Masters Power just wraps them knees a little tighter and throws a bird in the air.
Cant stop him. Can only hope to contain him

Too stupid to give up hope now Trukk. Doctor says my right knee is about 3 years shy of needing a full replacement so I can't do much more damage.

It will be baby weights if I make it. Somewhere around 400. I need to total above 1,322 to top the national rankings in the 181's M2 division. 400 squat should put me on track for that.

@Perrin Aybara and @theprodgicalson will get to see the beat up knees, multiple high hernias in need of repair and caved in upper left bicep from bicep tendon surgery this spring.

Lifting heavy for over 30 years will make a guy question his own intelligence at times. Others question it pretty much all of the time.

I'm not picky. I have a set of Iron Rebel Outlaws. There was a gym owner who competes at my last meet who was handling a couple of lifters and I asked him to wrap me. My only instructions to him were to wrap them tight. He did and I went 3 for 3.

How are the Iron Rebel Outlaws? Are they casting? Or Rebound?

Also saw a buddy at the gym that runs gear. He told me he was running tren ace and tren enan because "fuck it." I asked him if he knew the difference between different esters and he said he had no clue.

Mind boggling to just run random gear you have no clue about. This is the typical gym bro in my experience though.

It's those kind of people who also use coke and other street drugs, die by age 30 and give gear a bad rep.

I agree man! Some of the shit I hear these young guys at the gym spew, I just don't get it. It's not like when I was their age, where the only advice you could get was from the gym. These guys have all the info in the world at there fingertips and still don't know how to run gear.

I gave him a brief explanation, but i doubt he listens. Crazy with how easy it is to obtain information.
