Perrin Aybara's Journey to an Elite Powerlifting Total

I had one removed last Monday! I have no insurance and it cost me $396! Get it taken care of before it becomes a real problem! I've had bad teeth my whole life and it will get to a point that you can't take it anymore. I've had them break me down into tears and I like to think I'm pretty tough!

@Perrin Aybara Like @Gobuckeyes0122 mentioned, look into Care Credit. i got that when i first got sober and had no money and they worked with me to get all of my wisdom teeth out. it was something like no interest for 24-36 months as long as i made the minimum payment.

You could also look into going to a local University. One near me pulls teeth for something like $35-50/tooth. its an upper tier University so i would definitely go there in a heart beat. i may be going that route in a couple months for a root canal

No dental insurance at all though, so I'm hoping getting them pulled isn't too expensive and they have some kind of payment plans.

I'm pretty sure I got them pulled for $700... I can't remember what insurance covered and what they didn't.

With that said, look for some clinics that pull them. They will often have really cheap days to help the community where you only pay like $20 a tooth.

I know hygiene students work on people for free and you can bet your bottom dollar that the care they provide is the best you'll ever have. Their work is scrutinized to the high heavens by the teaching staff, it's not and easy program to pass. You have to sign up for the care at the school and the wait may be longer than you can stand for health reasons but it's an option.

@Eman brought up a good point. we have a health care center like that in our city that has multiple locations. check into that also, i know of a few guys that went that route and it was super cheap for what they had done.

My mom was a dental hygienist and her office did it every Saturday. Sadly, a lot of meth addicts would come because the drug had completely destroyed their teeth.

I think they ended up stopping the program, at least for a little while... The addicts were coming in to get a tooth pulled because they were also getting a scrip for Vicodin, it was a big win win for them. They'd call for refills and come into the office during the week asking for more drugs and complaining of pain... It was just easier for them to suspend the program I guess.

221lbs

Beltless trap bar deadlift 615lbs for 3x6
Incline bench 255lbs for 4x6
Barbell hip raises 275lbs for 3x6
One arm dumbbell rows 80lbs for 3x10

Pretty much been in bed all week with this tooth and sore throat. Going to the dentist Monday morning. Woke up feeling almost normal today, so I went to pick up heavy things except bench. Bench has been feeling pretty shitty lately.

Also, the high bar squats and trap bar deadlifts seem to be putting some size on my quads. How that will affect low bar squats and conventional or sumo deadlift remains to be seen. Hip raises are easier than they've ever been, too. Haven't done them in forever though, so might just be natural progression from other lifts there.

Came up funny on my second rep of my first working set of squats today and it didn't feel good on my right knee. Seems to be okay now, so might've just been being a little too paranoid as it was the knee that used to give me trouble. Just gonna repeat today's session next week. Was supposed to be 405lbs for 6x4.

That's the vid. You can see where my right knee caved a little.

That's the tooth that's been bothering me. Got a referral to an oral surgeon to get it and the other wisdom teeth pulled.

I forgot to log Wednesday. Just did box squats and hip raises. Been having some pain from pressing movements like right on my clavicle on the left side. Feels like it's from inside the bone. Doesn't really hurt until I rack the bar and go to let go of it. Figured I'd take it easy Wednesday and do some neutral grip dumbbell press and flyes and turns out that made it 10x worse. Now it hurts all the time during day to day stuff, so that sucks. On the positive side my knee was fine for box squats. I'm at the gym now actually. Hit 665x4 on trap bar deadlift at about max effort. Probably gonna go ahead and test on high bar and trap bar next week and then deload. I think I've come to a point trying to add weight every week on every lift is too much to recover from. Doing some overhead press right now with no pain somehow, so might be able to at least do OHP while I take some time off bench.

Yep , its best to rack it when it dont feel right ....;)

Hu if that’s your high bar beltless these days I wonder where you are low bar belt with wraps gotta deal you up into the mid 5s for sure

My best low bar with a belt and wraps was 550lbs back in the spring. I think my best beltless high bar at that point was like 405x5 or something a few months before that. I hadn't ever tried a max with it before, so it's hard to say where one is in relation to the other. I'd like to hit 550x1 with just a belt and sleeves by late winter/early spring and that would put me around 600x1 with wraps.

I'm working on my new programming right now. I'm going on vacation with my girlfriend for a week next month. Was gonna deload after this week, but I think I'll just experiment a little with my new ideas and consider the vacation a deload and start the new programming when I get back. It'll be similar to what I was doing except slightly different rep schemes and I'm gonna add some AMRAPs back in like I used to do.
