Perrin Aybara's Journey to an Elite Powerlifting Total

Just throwing some of my thoughts out there. Why not spread out your deadlift volume over multiple 3x week and cut squats. I mean, obviouslywhat you're doing is working buy something like: speed 8x1, intensity 1x3, volume 3x3 or 4x4 might work well. Just some thoughts

Yeah, I'm actually gonna cut squats and all accessories four weeks out. Thought about sooner, but didn't want to lose too much on my already poverty squat. I'm going to start pulling on Sunday or Monday, depending on work. Bench Wednesday or Thursday. At this point bench isn't going anywhere, it hurts so badly to bench I can't do it enough to progress. I'm thinking 365-385lbs at the meet if I'm lucky. Then six months off from bench again.

very nice dude, looks like it'll be there for sure. I'm debating now to go through this whole log lmao, daunting. Also, i see your belt squat jerry-rig, i'm lucky enough to have the actual machine, any suggestions on how/when to implement? Never done them before.

I like them for high reps on my accessory lift day. 3 sets of 15-20 reps.

Inspiring for sure man. Nice

Thank you, sir.

I hurt my knee somehow at work today. I don't know how or what it is. Get sharp jolts of pain when putting pressure on it from certain angles. So no gym today. Just got home and took some ibuprofen and got some ice on my knee now. Hopefully it's fine tomorrow and I'll be able to do my block pulls then. Planned on a peak single at around 725lbs.

Forgot to weigh

3" block pulls 675x1, 700x1, missed 725lbs above my knees because it slipped out of my right hand. That may be the first or possibly second time I've missed a deadlift for that reason. Very aggravating because I was almost at lockout.

Did some chest supported rows and called it a day. Not really trying to do much on this knee. Besides 700+ pound block pulls, lol.

Ever thought about hook gripping? Shit changed my life. I never had grip issues but I feel even more comfortable/secure with hook and it honestly doesn’t hurt like people say it does. Even if it did, just throw some athletic tape around the thumbs

Yeah, I can hook grip low 500's. It just hurts too much to go beyond that. It hurts my bar speed, too. Never tried tape.

I think it was mostly a fluke today. I've held onto over 800lbs in the power rack. Today the bar just slipped a little in my right hand and tore off some skin and shifted down onto my fingertips and there was just no hanging on to it at that point.

I felt an occasional dull ache at work earlier. No pain from block pulls though. I had a similar issue a couple years back. Could not even bodyweight squat, but no pain from deadlift. Just in case I skipped squats today. Since I'm doing a push/pull meet I was gonna drop them next week anyway, so not a huge deal.

That’s a good sign that it improved so much in just one day.
