Perrin Aybara's Journey to an Elite Powerlifting Total

I don't think so. Just work combined with this meet prep has me pretty achy.
If you are on your feet alot maybe should be wearing shoes that give solid support. I have had achy knees till I change my shoes that have memory insoles as I move around a lot even carrying heavy computer equipment.

Is it your clutch knee? I operate heavy equipment and I can tell ya, you’re going to get a lot of strange aches and pains from sitting, bouncing and climbing in and out of that truck all day. Just be mindful of it while you're young. Take breaks, Get out, walk around, and stretch. I wish I would have and maybe my spine wouldn’t be destroyed.

It's my right knee, same one I had problems with a couple years ago. When I'm on long trips I get out at rest areas and walk around a bit. Otherwise I cramp up really badly. I try to get out every 3-4 hours usually. The way our deliveries are scheduled there's plenty of time for that.

Comp bench 275lbs for 3x5

On the bright side 275lbs felt like nothing, could've done 10+ reps. Unfortunately the pain was so bad it took 10-15 seconds after every set to pry my left hand off the bar because it was locked up so hard. Still leaving squats alone because my knee still hurts a little. I guess at this point I'm really only training deadlift for this meet. I figure I can bench 350+ no matter what, so I'm just gonna do what I can training wise.

Pretty much walking around like I'm half crippled at the moment. The pain from bench has started hurting during regular daily activities, knee is better, but still hurts a little, hip hurts off and on, hands have been hurting a lot after heavy deadlift days, especially during the night and early morning. As long as I can hobble up to the platform on meet day and pull 700lbs I'm good though. As of yet deadlift is completely unaffected by all these various aches and pains.

Starting Sunday I'll be doing my heavy deadlift on Sunday. Normally it would be Monday, but there's no way I could pull heavy after work. Bench will be Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday depending on work. Next week will be high volume, week after peak doubles, week after peak triples, then deload meet week.

You are almost there, and hopefully things will settle down so that you can nail it at the meet. Just be careful...you certainly don't ever want a major injury so close to meet time.

Totally bombed today's workout. Worked up to my first set of 615x3 and couldn't budge it for my second set, dropped down to 565lbs and couldn't budge it either. Feel like somebody took a bat to my knees and hips. Had some chest pain for a few minutes after the 615x3 set, too, so hopefully that's nothing serious.

Really worried about this meet now. Probably would've missed my opener today. Hoping it's just fatigue that's gonna dissipate. Wasn't planning on adding tren after how easy 655x3 went up, but now I think I'm gonna add 50mg ED starting tomorrow.

I’d chalk it up to fatigue or just a shitty workout. Don’t let it get in your head and fuck up the progress you’ve made. Eat some groceries today, rest and get back at it this week!

I hope so. Work has been rough lately and training has obviously been killer. It's just hard to understand totally missing weights in the 80-90% range and now I'm worried I'll peak early from lack of volume.

Maybe add in a second day this week to get some extra volume in. Something like 500-530 for some triples or doubles. Rest and eat.

Totally bombed today's session again second week in a row. Whole meet prep has gone to shit.

Comp deadlift 605x2, 640x2, 675x0, 675x0

605x2 and 640x2 flew up, got 675lbs fast up to my knees both times and couldn't lock it out. Still having really bad knee pain in my right knee and it's keeping me from getting into the right position and locking my knees out hard at the right time. Been taking tons of ibuprofen, but can't rest it because of work and it just keeps hurting every day. If I can hit my peak triple of 660x3 next Sunday maybe I can still pull this off. Hopefully the reduced volume and deload before the meet will ease up this knee pain enough I can pull with good form.

So after watching today's videos over and over and my last really good deadlift day I think the reason I missed it was because I took a more narrow stance today. I guess unconsciously did it because my knee was hurting.

This was today with the 675lb miss. My feet are barely on the black part of the platform.

This was the really easy 655x3 from a few weeks ago. Feet are well onto the black part.

The more narrow stance made it come off the floor fast and then I couldn't drive my hips to the bar. It was more like a conventional deadlift. The 605x2 and 640x2 just weren't heavy enough to throw my lockout off and 675lbs was.
