Never had that happen before. Guess I'm gonna have to invest in some 100lb plates since there's no room for clips using 45's. 650lbs was definitely going for five reps though.

Belt squats 5x20

Hamstring curls 3x15

Nice pulls but it's so disconcerting to have all the plates slide off one side. Might as well let the other side slide off too lol. No pain today?

Think you need a longer bar to hold more plates.

Most 100lb plates are as thick as those 45lb plastic/rubber bumper plates so you could theoretically get 4 of them on each side with room for those locking plastic collars. That would be 845-855lbs!

Nothing major, just the usual aches and pains. Lots of local work lately and that means loading and unloading the truck all day in the blazing heat before going to the gym. Not exactly ideal conditions.

My bar is a competition bar, using something longer wouldn't make sense. The difference is they use the thinner kilo plates in competition that allows more weight. Two 100lb plates should make plenty of room if I could find a deal on some.

Belt squat got a crazy ab cramp first set and called it a day. Thought I had a hernia for a minute, was super intense.

Get at it now because it hit me again later in the day.

I thought the ER was in my future, too. It hurt a shit ton

Were you doing low carb at the time? It's happened to me in different muscles a lot the last few months. I'm wondering if I'm potassium depleted or something. Been on low carb for months.

I'm taking tomorrow off and maybe this weekend as well after that injury scare yesterday. Been taking some potassium pills and gonna buy some potassium rich foods this weekend. Hopefully will help with the muscle cramps. I moved a piano today, so I'm thinking it's probably not a hernia.
Good call and hopefully it was just a scare but playing it safe's the best thing. Keeping hydrated in the heat's very important for sure.

And I didn't know you played the piano lol jk.

More then you’d need this year.

And regarding the cramping; if you’re still dieting hard it might be smart to add an EAA+electrolytes intra workout. I’m loving nutribio’s right now and it’s carb free.

Yeah, pulls been going pretty well lately. I can pretty much walk in the gym any time and pull mid 600's at sub 200lbs these days. I'm gonna break the 700lb barrier this year.

I actually picked up some EAAs a couple months ago based on something you mentioned in a thread awhile back. I mix in a little lemon juice and sea salt for the electrolytes. Also some caffeine and citrulline malate. I've been drinking it on the way to the gym after work, but probably should split it into two drinks. One pre workout and one intra workout.

As far as the diet I'm coming to the end of it. Planning a ten week blast starting August 10th leading into my next meet and I'll be upping my carbs and calories then. Already been increasing slightly the last couple weeks. Been thinking back and I've definitely not been getting enough potassium. Not super experienced with dieting yet.
