Perrin Aybara's Journey to an Elite Powerlifting Total

226lbs

Speed bench 235lbs + bands 15x3
Pin squats above parallel 410x3, 460x3, 410x3, 410x3, 410x3, 410x3
Overhead press 185lbs for 3x5
Chin ups 18
Face pulls 3x15
Adductors and abductors with bands 3x20

Starting now I'm going to sub all bench slots with overhead press because of the pain and just do an AMRAP of chin ups with face pulls in their place. Also band pull aparts all through every session and hopefully the pain will subside.

Yesterday

226lbs

Comp deadlift 545x2, 570x2, 600 miss (it went up fast and I got off balance and missed it, would've been a PR), 480x2, 480x2, 480x2, 480x2, 480x5

Had to call it a day and get to work. Worked a double the day before and slept in till 8:30 and had to go back again straight from the gym.

227lbs today

Last Wednesday hit a 215x2 strict press PR and 185x8 rep PR

Friday just hit 545x3 deadlift

Today worked up to 470x2 squat rep PR, but I was feeling really stiff this morning and the second rep was slightly high

Been getting a ton of hours at work, so until the month is over I'll mostly just go three days a week for my main lift. Pick back up in January.

That blows about your buddy. What was his symptoms? Is that the cat aids? Is he around other cats?

Maybe this will make you laugh. Saw this shirt in the mall. Lol Only small and medium.

Just leaving the vet, my cat has leukemia. They say 20% survival rate with treatment.

Man, im so sorry to hear that Perrin.

i know that pain. a few years ago my dog(whom i had to give to my parents during my dark years) grew a cyst on her throat and often times had to grasp for air just to breath. Vet gave her 6 weeks to live. One of the most painful times of my life having to put her down. My parents did it on a day i was working a double doing security. And im so glad they did. They knew i would have been a train wreck if i went with them.

as Icky said, you know how to reach me if you need anything at all!

He was acting lethargic, so I took him to the vet yesterday. She said felt something odd in his stomach. X-ray showed his liver was 4x size and had a cyst pushing on his lungs. They gave him a steroid shot and he seems a little better this morning. Follow up is the beginning of next month and they'll continue the treatment.

He's been inside his whole life and never been around other cats. They say he most likely got it from his mother. It's not feline aids.

I appreciate it and will do.

Thanks and I will. I was a wreck yesterday, too. Also, I'm really sick right now. Woke up the other night before this started with the cat at 3am throwing up and haven't been able to keep any food down since Monday evening. Even crackers or ice cream comes right back up within an hour.

Sorry to hear the news on your cat. Hopefully the treatments work and he is in the 20%.
Our 19 year old dog died in my arms last summer and had to go with my dad to the vet two months ago as he had his 14 year old put down. One of only two times I had ever seen him cry. It is always rough when a pet is sick.

You being sick at the same time is a real kick in the ass. Hope you feel better soon. On the plus side training looks real solid and from the sounds of things the job front is much better as well.

Thanks and sorry about yours, too. I don't have kids and he's kinda like my kid. Best cat I've ever had and even the vet said he was the best natured cat she'd said. Never growled or hissed in his life and never bit or scratched in anger.

Yeah, squat especially has been going fantastic lately. Crazy because I've been cruising since the summer. Based on recent training I'd think I'm good for a 515ish single in sleeves on a good day. Deadlift is coming along, too. Bench unfortunately is not, but you can't have it all.

We lost our cat to feline leukemia 4 or 5 years ago while my wife was pregnant. Sucks man hope it works out.

Sorry for your loss. I'm hoping Ragnar pulls through and gets to live awhile.

How's everything going Mr Aybara? Got any meets in the near future?

Not anytime soon. I've missed the last two weeks of gym being sick, working, and taking my cat back and forth to the vet. We had to put him down Saturday. Haven't really been eating or sleeping much, don't know how much weight I've lost till I get to a scale. Just been a really shitty month.
