Utah was the state that criminally prosecuted the Satellite Porn industry and chased them out of the USA , and made them run to Canada. this was back in the 80'swhat the fuck?! This is insane.
So they are going to require smartphone OS manufacturers to somehow magically block ALL porn? There are tens of thousands of different porn sites. How would they even begin to enforce this? This seems like a great example of our stupid bureaucratic lawmakers that have zero knowledge of science or technology trying to make laws that simply are unenforceable. (Think: war on drugs; making prostitution illegal; making it illegal to download movies and music, etc.)
Kids are going to watch porn. Nowadays, they are probably going to start doing so at age 11 or 12.
Hell, Instagram is half porn at this point. Or that app "The Chive." Where do these overly religious Mormon assholes draw the line? Is a strong, sexy independent woman twerking her big juicy ass on instagram porn? No holes are showing! Should that be blocked for kids? How about music videos? Can they no longer watch rap music videos because the women are too racy? What about public pools? Are they going to separate the fine booty bitches from the young boys so the young boys don't blow their loads in the pool due to being so fucking sexually frustrated from a lack of pornographic material?!?! lol
Of course it would be fucking Utah too...just another example of overly religious people trying to exert their religious beliefs into the laws of a government that is supposed to be fully separate from church and religion... This is why separation of church and state is so important.
What we should be doing is enabling parents to know how to block the shit they don't want their kids to see, because it isn't the slightest bit difficult to do. They can block that shit with their router, they can put parental control apps on their kids phones. There are tons of options. If a parent doesn't want their kid to watch porn, first of all GOOD LUCK the kids are going to anyway. Also, second of all it should be THE PARENTS RESPONSIBILITY. But in the end wasting public tax money on bullshit laws like this is just pointless.
