Obviously been going on for quite awhile now in our country since 9/11 at our airports.Our united states airport security cannot single out young muslim arabic looking men for questioning.We cannot just detain them and search them or do background checks on them because this would be discriminating.We can however detain/search/question/pull off plane any caucasion we want and randomly do on a daily basis.Other countries do of course whatever they see fit with the arabic types that pass through their airports.Explain this one.Recently when Bush called the terrorist's "facist" the islamic nation here in the usa threw a fit..they said we were singling them out.what the hell are we letting our country turn into ?Screw political correctness !!!!Let's protect our country....these bastards are out to kill us all..dennis

First of all, I think that the US and all countries should in fact do profiling.

Second, who said there is no profiling?
Everytime I go to the US I have to go through something they call the special registration. They do background checks on me, take my fringer prints and photos etc., and they search me from head to toe (they even take my wallet and empty it). Last time I was in Seattle, the lady taking me through the process told me that certain citizenships such as mine have to go through this, all males between 14 and 79.

So yeah, profiling is there, you just don't feel it unless you're one of the people getting questioned at every airport out there.

Of course they had line for us in Seattle's airport (Line 2 it was). She looked at my passport and said "ah you're Line 2", gave me a plastic bag and asked me to put all my belongings in it, and step through that line.

Then they would ask you to take off your shoes, and they would use some sort of napkin and rub it on both shoes, then another one to rub it on your belongings and any hand loggage you have, then they pass it inside a machine. While they are doing that, another person would come and search you.

For some reason, they also had a few Americans with us in that line too (maybe random, I don't know).

I too agree Grizz, wish it was more honest, just tell people that the system is there, no shame in that. If I had Christians/Westerns threatening to bomb my country I know I for one would ask for this.

The big problem that is hurting the US is its extra sensitivity towards public opinion and the international community.

old timer ..what nationality are you ? Why did they single you out ? Last time my wife and I flew they searched us thoroughly(both of us are white)there were definately more than a few arabic looking individuals that passed right through the inspection process.

I am from Saudi Arabia. The border protection officer told me that nationalities such as Pakistan, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia etc. are required to go through this if they are between the age I mentioned before. She said there was a waiver program though, but I didn't know how to apply for one.

A waiver program huh..great...now all the terrorist have to do is fill out proper paper work and bypass the entire screening system..America probably has a monetary reumbersiment system in place to compensate the terroist for taking time to do this.I promise you if young white american men were running around this country terrorizing innocent people the law could do whatever they saw fit to search or detain any white young male they came across.

Both my parents my sunni muslims but i myself am a thiest.I believe in a great power that created the universe but i dont buy into these motherfuckers who claim to be the son of god and that the one that claims he is the last prophet and i am damn fucking proud of it now.There is NOTHING wrong with profiling anyone.The "where there is smoke there is fire" issue comes into play here.I used to be the guy who always thought i should treat everyone on an individual basis.After living in south florida for most of my life my opinions have changed.I did loss prevention for a couple of companies a few years back, then there was the incident where my moms car got stolen and guess what was the thiefs race.And then after helping my uncle with his small business i ended up getting tons of credit card chargebacks because of people using stolen cards which we had to suck up. Finally at this point in time i have a around blacks,never relax policy until i have known them for a while.And im no redneck white guy either for your information.Muslims worldwide have proven that they will use any excuse in the book to blow shit up.For this VERY reason i think anyone coming from a muslim country should be given a THROUGH checkup at airports etc. Sorry if this offends people and yes not every black person is a crook and neither is every muslim a terrorist.However for the safety of everyone FUCK political correctness and lets use common sense.

Desibaba..right on man..you nailed it..we need to use more common sense here in the old USA.problem is the minority rules here in our great nation.There was a comment on this post somewhere about democrats..reminded me of the guy on the news a few months back who's son was beheaded by the terrorist's..there was even a tape of it for the democrat father to watch...this father has been all over the news denouncing our military and goverment...almost praising the terrorist who killed his own son......Furthermore..the black panther organization had a big rally on the court house steps in Houston texas awhile back..they all drove up in Hummers,3 piece suits and each had automatic weapons/rifles in their hands..they demonstrated for hours and no one attempted to disarm them.Picture a few of us guy's on this site rolling up to anywhere USA courthouse in hummers and we jump out loaded to the gills w/ m 16's to demonstrate our single minded thoughts on white supremacy ? My fiance and I were flying to Las Vegas last November and I was stopped at the airport for over 30 minutes. i was wearing a pair of abercrombie warmups that had some metal zippers on them that apparently had set off the metal detectors. They pulled me aside and put me in a clear plexiglass box..asked me to take my shoes off (even though I had just taken them off before entering the metal detector), take my sweatshirt off, empty my pockets...etc. They then pulled my fiance in with me and did the same to her. I told the lady that I thought it was zippers (due largely to the fact that the wand went off everytime it ran over my zipper), but she had to "follow protocol". They then had to call a supervisor to basically "sign off on me".

We met my dad out in Vegas. He and I never fly together just in case something bad happened. Coming back from Vegas, we had to go thru about 3 different metal detectors before boarding our planes. After we went thru the last metal detector, my dad reached in his pocket and started laughing...he pulled his cigar cutter out of his sport coat pocket. LOL. Now, all you have to do is break it in half and you have 2 razor blades, which was the weapon of choice for 19 terrorists on 9/11. Not one of those metal detectors caught that cutter.
