There's this guy at my gym that loads ridiculous weight and keeps squatting higher and higher while screaming nonsense to himself about how he can't even feel it and it's too easy. Then brags to girls and teenagers how he's repping 500+. So annoying.
Have a guy like this in my gym too. He loads up to 585 and proceeds to do 5inch descents for multiple sets/reps.
I just wonder where in the hell this guy learned this from and what does he think he's getting out of it. Does he actually think he's squatting? One of these days I'm going to ask him. I'll report back, haha.
I think the one at my gym is delusional. He happened to comment on a mutual friend of my girl's on Facebook and she clicked on his page and showed it to me. Crazy stuff. Talking 405x15, the looks on people's faces when he's repping out 500 and the bar starts to slide down and he casually hoists it back onto his traps, how he's going to hit 600 soon, physique pictures talking about "this is how a powerlifter should look." Blew my mind. Seems one of his friends would have had the heart to break it to him by now or at least someone on social media, but I guess not. Crazy world we live in.
Hate to say it PA but sounds like you're going to have to be the one to break it to him. But please be gentle, don't completely shatter his world all at once. Tell him he has potential, that should ease the fall, haha.
The guy I mentioned seems more grounded. He always gives up the squat cage to my friends and I and keeps to himself, doesn't seem to be looking for attention. He's always watching us squat too. He's probably thinking, "what in the hell are those guys doing?" haha
Quick update.
I made a little adjustment and all the sudden my appetite has come back full force. Still playing around with ideas in my head for the rest of the program so maximize strength at the end. Since I started Sheiko I have been bouncing around 199-201 morning weight and 203-205 gym weight. Last night I was 211 and woke up at 207 today. It is probably a combination of not having the Sheiko volume workouts this week on top of my little change that brought my hunger back. Either way I feel thicker than last week that's for sure. Everytime I break 210 I can tell with my breathing.
Not sure what I'm going to do tonight. Probably a few DLs and bench and throw in some other back work I've been missing so dearly
I love the week I between training cycles where you can just do the exercises that make you happy to be in the gym and when you do them your vastly stronger then last time. Mines bent over rows I only get to do them every second Saturday and every time I do it they are increased by a lot.
211 you must look as thick as a Chinese phone book jeez man!
220 will suit you and the breathing thing should be all good once your body adapts to the new weight.
The back angle looks better, but I think the knee angle is less than optimal because of it. I think you want about a quarter squat type position to really have the most power from the floor. I could see where that would be hard to break the floor with. I don't know, maybe doc or RT will have some thoughts on it when they come along.
After reviewing my videos for the past couple hours. It's hard for me to decide. They all look just like this one when my feet are pretty damn close. This was only a 3 plate pull and is the most hidden of them all lol
