Crush that opener squat and it's smooth sailing from there.

So some unfortunate news boys. One the event was delayed by an hour and they told us that 5 mins before we were suppose to squat so I had taken my halo
30 mins prior and my TNE 1 hour 15 mins prior so I got fucked on time crushed my 385 squat like nothing. And that's as happy as this day got. On my second attempt of 425 I began to puke but was still going up fast then the judge called the spotters to grab it and the spotter from being bumped me and I stepped forward half squated and popped/tore my left quad, I couldn't attempt squat again, benched 275 but my 300 attempt I had to try and brace myself with my legs and the pain made me unable to push. So final bench I unracked then reracked it so I didn't get disqualified. Deadlift I pulled 475 with some serious quad pain, pulled 500 to above my knees and quad fired up so dropped it then I just went and pretended to pick it up then dropped again. It's bruised up already so I'm pretty upset with today as a whole. Still won silver with those shitty numbers and I would have set records and got a sponsor if i hit the numbers I wanted. But there will always be another meet.

Cheers to everyone that's tuned in and I'm sorry that this is how the story ended up really wanted to make some magic happen for you guys but I just couldn't do it with my quad the way it is.

Sorry to hear man. But much respect for sticking it out. I probably wouldve called it a day right away.
You mightve gotten silver there, but youre still my number one golden bear! :D

Damn man that's some shit. Major props for sticking it out though

Sorry to hear that. Plenty more meets to rock to make up for this one. Maybe take it easy on the stims, pills, pwo, etc. next time?

Do you need surgery or anything?

Damn, sounds like just god awful luck and shitty judging/spotting. Sorry to hear it brother, but hey you still took silver with a fucked up quad so we're all still proud of ya, BROdley Martyn.

Gonna go to the hospital to get it checked but I'm hoping not it doesn't feel nearly as bad as the last time I tore a quad and I'm still able to walk normal so that's good. I think it was the nerves actually as I didn't have any preworkout or halo for over an hour before my squat due to the delay. Either way I don't really know guess it is what it is thou

Awww I'm so sorry to hear about your injury. Did you go to the doc? I hope you have a speedy recovery. Injuries blow, I hope you're not out of the gym for long and can get back to doing what you love in no time.
Winning silver is badass and I hope you're damn proud of yourself. I am:p

Sorry to hear about the injury bud, but congrats on your silver, great job[emoji106]

Damn man.. Sorry to hear. Recover well and still congrats on silver. Just know in your head you would of crushed that shit. All that matters

Alright so not the best news but not the worst news either. I have a grade 2 tear in my lateral lower quad but the doctor would classify it as "light grade 2 tear" complete heal time with rest is 4ish weeks (3-6 weeks) that's the bad news, good news is doesn't need surgery so that's great. I tore my right quad really badly so I know all the rehab for it and I'll probably be squating again come 3ish weeks from now. Sorry if this log isn't as great as it was but I'm kind of at a moot point as I had incredibly high expectations and should have done so so much better. I'm going to debate coming off cycle as it may be a waste being 6 weeks out from when I have to start my job and be 175 to spend 4 of those weeks on cycle with "light training". I'll update when things start to feel a bit better for me.

Happy to hear no surgery is needed. Gotta look at the bright side. It'll give you time to work on something else. As far as the meet goes you stuck it out and that in itself is impressive. You got plenty of time for more meets. Just use it as a learning experience.

Damn brother. I am so sorry to hear that. Thank god it was only a grade 2. Although it is a set back, it is easily recoverable. You truly represented your avi with that performance. Way to gut through it. Had a similar issue a few years back when I tore my hamstring, but I wasnt able to gut through it like you did. It sounded like a total shit of a day, but being as you were able to walk....or possibly "limp" away with a completed total and medal, it shows the fortitude of a true champion. Keep focused and moving forward. Get that swelling down brother.

That's rough brother. Look into picking up some mechano growth factor if you want it to heal faster.

Very impressive that you still finished the meet and even placed under those circumstances.

Hey man it seems like things went awesome considering the circumstances!!
Placing 2nd with a jacked up muscle, the biggest muscle in your leg mind you, should really boost your spirits.
If you can be at like 50% and still beat everyone else but 1 person..... just imagine the records you will be setting once you are 100%!!!

Injuries suck no matter what, but sounds like you got lucky with it being not too severe. Also sounds like you know how to rehab it.

Awesome job on your numbers man... you out lifted me on my best of days, and you were tore up. That's an outstanding display of resilience and fortitude brother, be proud of yourself!!!
