Stanford Pharma aka SP = Meso Member Xkawn

Is it a double standard? I'm not a fan of how sp came in. That said catching someone's handle in initial vetting doesn't have the potential to hurt members because there shouldn't be any orders. Blasting an established sources handle and making detailed connections has potential to harm members. It seems in this situation it would've been better to keep what he found in his pocket and used it to start vetting him, which I'm certain he would've gotten help with. The non vetting seemed to be his biggest gripe and the vetting here is supposed to be an ongoing process.

To me we need to weigh out the potential harm to members when we put stuff on blast.

But apparently the bread crumbs were already scattered about and they were covered behind the scenes. Did @Rapier do the harm or did the coverup of the bread crumbs, setting the ticking time bomb do the harm? Who knows who @Rapier is but if he was able to piece it together, someone else could have too.

Double standard was only half. The disillusionment is what I’m sure a lot of guys here are starting to feel while reading this thread. Maybe I’m being naive but MESO was supposed to be different than other forums. A lot of us liked that. I think we’re seeing it thru a new set of eyes now and that’s pretty disappointing.

So you found that something seemed “fishy” then decided it was best to handle things behind the scenes and not divulge information?

If something seems fishy during the vetting process, then isn’t that something the community should know?

You know, harm reduction
Fishy as the source came in knowing the ends in outs of MESO and other members posting seemed "fishy" or odd.

Not really sure what else everyone needs to know. In hindsight some of the information could of been shared in public but wasn't. All that was shared to me was user names. Nothing else. Other's handled that.

I was concerned how @Rapier handled the situation is why I jumped in.

It was a shitty thing to do IMO. Perhaps I should have stayed out of it and not got involved. I was trying to let everyone know what happened probably three years ago. Because I'm assuming most of the people posting in this thread were not around.

I'm not very technically savvy but I was told that you're location is vulnerable in pms. Is that not accurate?
I believe they can on certain apps. I wasn't aware that was an issue on MESO.

I just don't think it needed to be pieced together and put on blast the way it was no matter who did it. My concern is and has been member safety and blasting it the way he did can jeopardize it. Anyway thats a dead horse at this point.

To the disillusionment portion. I think you've been here longer then me so you saw how he came in wasn't right and if you read back through older threads like that one desert warrior posted you see there's always been shady cats working angles. Meso's not or never will be perfect but its hands down the best board going. We can always call out bullshit and work to improve it which is another thing that sets meso apart.

At the end of the day, he did choose to disclose this information at a time when Stanford isn’t accepting orders.

Is it right? Not in my opinion.

But Stanford should have deleted and purged all existing emails. As every source is supposed to do. He shouldn’t have anyone’s identifying information at the moment, since he’s weeks away from reopening.

If he hasn’t been deleting those emails, then that’s another reason people should be upset.

I don't disagree with you. He was about to re launch which is why I think vetting him without the public blast would've been the better way to go. As to the emails they all say they do but I don't take them at their word and just assume they don't

If you are sent a PM with a link and you click it, it's possible to reveal some info about you. I've made a post about that, so maybe it was that?
It may have been and I just got paranoid and turned it off. Is there anyway without clicking a link to get caught up?

Then the fact remains there’s no way to have put this information out without someone believing it was “harmful.” This ever being behind closed doors is the issue IMO. Now that he’s “closed” prior to reopening, not a bad time if you ask me.

I remember inquiring about a price list from a well-known lab on here and I ended up getting a monthly e-mail sent from them... which is strange since they should have lost my e-mail when they "deleted" it.

I suspect that deleting e-mails isn't as commonplace as people would like to think.

Wouldn't it have been better for everyone if he kept the info, led the vetting and used it to refute any bullshit? It was a jumbled mess so I skimmed it.
Source has been open for year(s), right?

...I guess I don’t see it the same way. All that would’ve accomplished in my eyes is more orders being placed with a possible OPSEC issue at hand. As @BigBaldBeardGuy said, ticking timebomb and as dumb as this thread seems, feel we’re placing superficial blame.

Then the best thing may have been to hit him with vetting and not release the info. Its a fucked situation regardless but member safety should trump all else.

I tried dumping that jumbled post and re post

I guess I’m hung up on watching MLI (admittedly no fucks given in hiding who he was) get YEETed in days for essentially the same thing but here were contemplating the safety of members in a source identity being covered for a substantial amount of time when it was known and available to the public if anyone dug.

I’m not new but certainly not “seasoned” here. Maybe I’m just missing subtle shit that draws the line you’re talking about.
