The OFFICIAL OFFICIAL NFL Smack Talk Thread

The blatant hits are the only ones that are banned...

You can't compare anything else to taking a H2H hit by a modern NFL caliber DB. It's literally like getting hit by a truck. The game is faster and the athletes are bigger, stronger, and faster than they have ever been, so the rules will naturally adjust accordingly. You can't just go around throwing your head into someone else's at a dead sprint when you weigh 250 and have the vertical of an NBA player and run a fucking low 4 second 40, you will kill someone. Shit happens, but doing it intentionally is, and should remain, against the rules for good reason.

Besides, if you tackle someone properly, you should never use the crown of your helmet anyways. Good form for a tackle means you're hitting a runner straight up and down, wrapping up so they don't break it, and pushing your chest and facemask through them and into the ground.
So I guess if a DB goes below 4sec. 40 one day in the future it will be the NFFL,
just messing with you, point taken it just seems like they call everything H2H even facemask to facemask! it's a little overboard but I hear ya.;)

Oh ya ,if you don't stand during the pledge of allegiance someone should be able to smack the fuck out you and not have to worry about assault charges a "patriotic duty so to speak"
Imo

I'm just sayin

Well that's a problem with officiating, not the players or the rules.

I think it's because they'd rather get flak for calling too many plays than to be "that guy" who gets too loose and allows someone to get hurt, it would be a media shitstorm and they'd be looking for a job more than likely. They'd rather be too careful and everyone go home than be the one responsible for someone getting fucked up and then have a camera in their face.

There's a happy medium, and I think we're there right now.

Ya the refs are questionable at times ,thank God for instant replay!

That year they went on strike was an eye opener lol the replacements were fucking awful and that's putting it lightly. Every time I get pissed about a stupid blown call, I remember that clusterfuck and keep my mouth shut haha

Miami gonna do any good with Cutler throwing the ball this year? They always seem like one of those teams that's just a piece or two away, and I thought this was gonna be a good year for them until Tannahil went down.

Seems like the Bills are a QB away from being good also, and maybe even Houston. If Watson works out, they may actually have a decent team in an awful division.

Funny you brought that up about the refs, lmao that was a train wreck and then some that year. Very strange things happen in the NFL sometimes a QB can be completely terrible in one organization and shine in another (chemistry most likely) and teams will do the same thing, come out of nowhere and terrorize the league. Cutler will need his offensive line to provide him the time to get rid of the ball effectively or he's fucked! He's not a big scrambler he's gotta have good protection. Anyways nice chat gotta get some sleep. Later

They need more juicin in sports now days....let em all get anabolic as fuck an ram into eachother at full force...makes for better entertainment lol

1st week of the reg season is a bit shakey for most of the teams/games i watched. Some rusty executions on alot of players parts. The GBvsSEA game was a bit slow in the first half. Rodgers threw a very uncharacteristic INT. His first in 250 some attempts. And it was a give away too. Such a stupid INT...
On the bright side GB defense looks unbelievable! Which is a huge upgrade. Hope it stays that way. We capped Russell Wilson quite a few times. Stiffled their pass game and did a great job against their run game.

What did u all notice about your teams? Lets hear it

You can chalk the giants up to the "rusty" category. There wasnt anything i think the cowboys did very well. Zeak had him a game tho. Prescott have a mediocre game at best. Didnt even touch 300 yrds passing. Missed alot of passes. Not the least of which was the sure fire TD on Dez's cross pattern only 10yrds deep in the endzone. Hope for your sake that Prescott is "rusty" as well. Which may be the case.

The Giants didnt do anything well. Not that Dallas stopped them. Just Eli was anemic. Their run game was terrible. All in all i dont think the Giants v Cowboys game showed us anything really. Except alot of bad play.

What did u like?
How Bout them cowblys

Overall the Falcons played a decent first game. Still too many mistakes bring made. They played a really good Bears team. The Bears will def be in the mix at the end of December. For once, the Falcons defense saved the game instead of losing it.

Falcons - Packers next week will be the game to watch.

Hopefully. They base the schedule off the previous years performance. And the previous years performance had the bears dead last in the NFC North so frankly im suprised the Falcons had trouble with them. And so is the entire NFL not named Falcons fan. Rumor is since the departure of Shanahan from Atlanta what you saw last night is what Falcons fans are in for the entire '17 season. Truth? Too early too tell. Well find out next week

True. The offense did not look like they were comfortable with some of the plays. Is that due the new offensive coordinator? Or is it that it's early in the year and they're not in rhythm yet? Probably a little of both. If they don't get shit straightened out this week, they'll get embarrassed in the home opener.

2 starting all pro linemen Bulaga and Bahktiari, All Pro Nelson, DT Mike Daniels and 3 other starters out on sundays game against ATL in the new mercedez benz stadium in ATL. No big suprise my Packers lost without all those essential players.

1-1 start to the season and still revengeless against Atlanta for last yrs NFC championship game loss :(

It was pretty clear last night what is lost when Rodgers has little to no protection.
That and those 2 "offensive pick" plays they penalized us for. 1 worse than the other. Shameful
