(US) Long term stash planning BIG Thread

I don't buy this for a second. Fantastic head on top of those incredible shoulders. All i have is a large head, pitiful shoulders, and horrible BB genes. But I'll keep after it cause I am insane and like the impossible challenge.
Come on, man! Just take the complement + self deprecating humor all in one. I don't know how to accept complements; so, thank you!

@readalot I’ve really enjoyed your breakdown of the de minimus loophole stuff. Since you brought it up initially I’ve gone searching and found plenty of news articles on the topic.

What’s happened in this discussion is a perfect analogue to what seems to be happening in the ‘real world’ - most people are too busy worrying about who’s using which bathroom to even care about some bigger picture things that are happening that will ACTUALLY affect them.

Literally NOBODY that I’ve mentioned it to has had any idea what the loophole was, how they’ve heretofore benefited from it, or what it may mean for their pocketbook and lifestyle with regards to prices, taxes, etc. Temu, Shein, and I’d wager Amazon as well, won’t be able to operate the same way moving forward. I’m not a Temu/Shein user (that’s for the kids these days…shakes fist), but I can sort of see, in a blurry way, how closing the loophole may have some pretty broad consequences.

It’s going to be interesting to see what the economic and political consequences are, months and years from now.

I could equally be making the same arguments about "stocking up" to anyone relying on cheap Temu merchandise.

I ordered some lip balm from Temu (a product using a higher level of active ingredient than is allowed in the US) for $1.

It was sent from China to my house, shipping included. No customs duties. no sales tax. For $1.

Apparently this is made possible not only because of "de minimus". but because China is characterized as a "developing country", and the US signed a treaty decades ago to help poor countries by subsidizing the postage of anything they mail to the US.

So my $1 lip balm (which is awesome by the way, such a high FDA disapproved of level of hyularonic acid you can almost hear your lips sizzle) was brought from a factory 11.000 miles away to my door:

Duty free.
Sales tax free.
FDA regulation free.
And the taxpayer picks up some of the shipping cost.

Clearly that was never going to be a sustainable situation.

It wasn't too relevant to the discussion, but in addition to every other way de minimus is going to be cracked down on, consumer products (like my lip balm) will need a certification filed with customs that the pack contents comply with US consumer protection standards. What's the disclosure going to say for a package of steroids? Fake that disclosure. and the shipper is liable for a $10,000+ fine.

So if you're a Temu or Schein shopper, STOCK UP, you've been warned, lol.

Patterns....I see patterns everywhere, man.

Must've been all that acid in my youth lol.
Oh brother…do I have a story about that + two others that are known as a “Jedi flip” when combined.

Now, let’s do 3 days in a row wilding out. Holy fuck did I learn a good lesson. Pretty sure I had serotonin syndrome. Didn’t hit me till 2 days later. Couldn’t move without puking, couldn’t eat or drink for basically 24 hrs without puking. Stuff in my vision “moved” 1 week + later…. Man I’ve got No chill

Awesome, thanks. Ohh the irony of THIS drawing me in to f*ckn Temu :P

I only use Temu to buy the stuff that's literally illegal in the US.

Rough heels? Urea cream is the best fix. PRESCRIPTION only strength is 45% in the US. $100/4oz jar.

$4 for a 4oz jar of 60% on Temu. Melts rough skin right off hahah

Shit, all this posting when I should be stocking up on all the stuff thats banned because it actually works...

Anyone have any idea if this overhaul in the US is giving the EU any bright ideas? Google isn’t giving me any indication that they’re planning on making changes in the EU, but maybe I’m just not using the right search terms.

when i was 16-17 we had sheets of acid, well i had so many sheets that we would eat acid for like a whole week straight, we were told by some hippy that you had to double the dose the day after a "acid trip" to maximize the affects, so by day 4 we were eating 15+ hits "to maximize " the acid,,,, boiii lemme tell you what , i've never seen such crazy shit in my life,(accept for dmt trips) by the time we were coming down, we were a mess ,,, Honestly surprised im not one of those "burnouts" that you rarely come across in life ,,,, For reference for all the "old heads" they were the " blue unicorn" acid hits,,, circa 1989 lol

Good times. I wonder if LSD is still a "thing" for teenagers.

Just search Temu for Hyaluronic acid lip balm. Get the blue stuff. A 6 pack is cheaper. Apply it right out of the shower when your lips are still moist and it pulls all that water deep into the skin. No more shredded lips.
You shop on temu a lot. I think that’s the 5th time I’ve heard you mention it within 2 weeks. I figured you’re so wealthy you don’t care about price. But for some reason you seem to really enjoy getting things as cheaply as possible. Your lies fall apart every day, You cannot maintain your fake online persona. Just as the last month you’ve been writing long rants about US customs, spreading fear….but you don’t even live in the US.

You frequently contradict yourself

Here, let me help you out bud.

Unsuccessful, multi-generational low class people like you, and I distinguish those from someone who just doesn't have a have a lot of money, have an image in their minds about how they'd act if they were rich.

You think wealthy people throw money away, have no interest in shopping intelligently, because that's what you do when you get a windfall.

I clearly said I buy the stuff that's banned in the US from Temu because it's *effective*. The $10 stick of Jack Black lip balm wasn't, but after researching I discovered that Hyaluronic acid stick was the absolute best, and it is. Or plastic straws, illegal in my jurisdiction, for instance. I hate paper straws.

The only other items I've even mentioned there were an essential oil case and ampoule tool. Do you expect me to go to Saks for those?

I fly business class back and forth to Bangkok on ANA or Japan Airlines. I buy my round trip tickets in "reverse", originating in Bangkok instead of NY, so I'll fly back to the US in April, and use the return ticket the following winter. This makes them around $3200 instead of $4500 per round trip seat.

Does that make me poor or cheap? It makes me fucking smart. And whether it's buying a lip balm for $1 that does a great job, or getting another Amex just because they'll give me 150,000 points with a $15k spend over 3 months, those habits permeate every decision.

You don't have any of these qualities, so money slips through your hands like water, and you'll always be poor, bitter, living hand to mouth.

Nothing will change in the EU, as changes have already been made in 2021. Anyway, most sellers send shipments in such a way that packages bypass these regulations anyway. So we are just waiting for the resumption of raw material sales, which will happen 100%.
