Shredded! Your tie ins around your abs in the ab+thigh shot look amazing! Your genetics are impressive, especially considering you didn't use "supplements" for 99% of your career (I don't even know if you have at all)!

Your front lat spread just blew the others away!

Thanks mate im truly humbled buy those words, I don't know what to say. Just lucky I guess's on the genetics front although when looking at myself I see many flaws. I hope this doesn't sound cocky but im really proud of what I have achieved in my career with and without the use of drugs, now they are definitely a part of the equation but I feel doing it clean for so long has put me in a good position now to take advantage of them to a much greater degree now. Front lat spread is one of my favourites, I always smile when they call it in the compulsories, in my head I say to myself lets go boys see who can match this lol.

looking good. how did you place? I have one question. are those you injection spots on your quads? or you have an abscess?

I don't know where I placed as the judges have not got back to me with my placing, confused so am I.

Here is what happened and i'll let you guys be the judge. we all lined up and did our compulsory poses once, then the 4 guys you see in the second last picture got called out, these are the top 4, they did one set of compulsory poses and were put back in line and we were asked to leave the stage.

I did not even get a call out and it was over in less than 5 mins, never in my career which started in 1984 have I ever not got a call out or seen a division judged so quickly and I must have been to upward of 100 comps pulse.

The placing's in the second last picture are as follows, the guy in the gold trunks with the partial beard first, the guy to the left as you look at the picture came second and the guy in the purple third.

You guys have a good eye you be the judge because if I whinge it sounds like sour grapes.

With regards to my things its a combination of things, when I was young I played football for most of my junior years, being a heavy contact sport I sustained lots of injuries to my quads from the opposing players, typically you would get a knee to the thigh and this would cause the muscle to split, as a result my upper thighs can look quite knotted or lumpy. this was exaggerated buy the fact I was unable to contract them without cramping, being so dehydrated cramping is a real issue for me and its something I need to work on. So what you see in the picture is me not flexing my thigh at all and that's why it looks less than impressive.

This is one area im working very hard to improve next time.

More pics from contests, it would be so much appreciated.

Ok i'll post so more comp pictures but I would also like to see some of yours, it would be nice if this was a place to share our progress pictures so we as a board can offer encouragement and perhaps some useful comments. Otherwise this is all about me and to be honest its flattering but it would be great to share the lime light with some of you, im sure there are some great transformations out there and we don't all have to look like body builders to be proud of our achievements.

I would of placed you there as well, you have a lot more definition, at least from the pics I can see. You lose in the leg department in a few poses, but you explained why.. But you clearly win in quite a few of the shots I see above. Your Christmas tree just blows anyone else's away, I can see the #1 guy has better delts in a few of the shots (more separation). Your chest looks on par with his, same type of upper/lower separation and symmetry. #1 guy def has some great striation in his biceps/tri's though!

I would be curious to see the scoring cards.

Thanks bro, to be honest I thought I had a real good shot at 3rd and yes second was not out of the question depending on what look the judges preferred, but as it stands apparently the best I can place is 5th as 4 got called out so I wasn't even in the race.

Maybe I didn't even place 5th who knows, im waiting on the judges feedback re scores etc. but in typical IFBB fashion I have nothing as yet. I have left a message every Sunday since the comp which was on the 19th of October so we are one month down the track and nobody is able to spare me 5 mins to explain my placing and what improvements need to be made. Not sour grapes at all just stating the facts, would be good to know for my own piece of mind, thank you for your support it really helps.

Congrats Shredded - yes you should have placed higher . Would you say you were the oldest competitor there ? Age discrimination ! ~Ogh

Oldest buy a long way im 49 now and will be 50 in January, most of my competitors would be in there late 20's to middle 30's. I would hope that was not a factor although ive been heavily advised that they wish me to compete in the age divisions as it would be good for the IFBB to have a competitor that may stand a chance overseas in these divisions. I don't know weather that's a complement or not, personally I think I still have enough muscle to hang with the open divisions and the over 50's can wait. Maybe im being punished for my insubordination lol.

You looked great Shredded.

Any advice for taller guys with wide hips? I can only make my shoulders so big haha.

Thank you, yes I have some great advice for wide hips as I suffer from it too. Here is a list of things to try,

1 Smaller meals as this leads to your stomach shrinking in size a little.

2 Get a good pro biotic to ensure good gut health, sometimes if good bacteria in the gut are lacking this can lead to bloating causing abdomen distension.

3 Lower your body fat.

4 Anavar, I notice while running this compound my stomach fat seems to be less, I know this goes against every rule of spot reduction but it something that works for me.

5 GH shrinks my waist so much that im wearing jeans I bought when I was 25.

6 I saved the best till last, stomach vacuums, these are a old exercise long forgotten, they strengthen the abdominal core and do wonders for tightening the muscles giving you the ability to hold them in a little shrinking your waist. I highly recommend them.
Frank Zane was a master of the stomach vacuum.
