What R U Eating ? ~OGH wants to know.....

Central/north bama. I can get fish that isn't in the frozen section
Yea brother, i know you can. So all fish in store have to be frozen multiple times by fda standards, its called re-freeze. Most fish that are in the store are weeks old. Its just what it is. I would just get what you can get.

I know all of this useless info from being vegan for so long. 99% of people can give a shit tbh, lol. For some reason, eating toxic food bothered me. I try to always know where its coming from.

I think bama has a small section of coast right? Or i’m Sure your neighbors do. Any local fish markets or is there only major chains where your at?

Oh. Fuck. Yes.

Thought you were going to do that up Irish style... Made me hungry for corned beef. Now I'm hungry for smoked brisket... And corned beef brisket.... And Mac and cheese.
There was also corn bread, but not homemade. I sat around all day swapping out old power outlets and switches waiting for that to finish cooking.

Do any of you no californians do tri-tips? Someone was trying to tell me they were a California thing. I didn't believe them. Anyhow, dinner and some lunches for the coming week. The little piner bastard is a flank steak the butcher gave me for buying 8 tri-tips.View attachment 97416
I think the tri tip first became popular out that way but it is a seller up here. I have 3.5 lbs of it in my fridge as we speak

I could probably find fresh fishif I really looked for it

Throw the fish in a ziplock with milk. Let it marinate overnight at least. The longer the better. We always do this with the catfish we catch. Drain and rinse with water before cooking.

I’ve done that with crappie before and makes it fantastic—-

I’ll have to try salmon if it works for y’all

I usually grill salmon — with oil and spices but still a fishy fish

Not really sure bro. The fisherman i buy this from bring this catch in daily, cleans the fish, puts it on ice and i have it that night or next morning. It’s never frozen like store bought. This fresh fish is never fishy probably because its only a day or 2 old where store bought is weeks due to being frozen multiple times and additives being added like dyes, pesticides and preservatives.

If you live near water, get in with the locals and buy local. Fuck that poison at the store (especially farmed fish, avoid at all costs)

^^thats the long explanation. In short i use this grilling rub in the picture above, hes a local guy from CT and i buy his rub from the farmers market. Throw that bitch on the grill and its to die for.

I’m just getting back into the meat thing so i’m Fine tuning. Its been years without this stuff
Haha you said pesticides when talking about fish.

1 whole egg, 1 cup egg whites, 1/2 cup low-fat cottage cheese all scrambled together. You have to cook a little longer to get out the extra water from the cottage cheese.

Just tried this for the first time this morning (with the cottage cheese)

I was pleased and will definitely be eating this often. Great way to get more protein with eggs.

I gotta sit down and look at the nutrition facts of eggs vs whites and see what I can do. I've been about as good as I can be

View attachment 97468 I'm so tired of egg whites and turkey bacon. What are y'all eating for breakfast?

That is the saddest looking breakfast... :(

My normal breakfast is 6 whole eggs bought farm fresh over medium with Himalayan salt, sriracha and fresh cracked mixed peppercorns... Usually grease pan with grass fed butter. Homemade cold brew iced almond Joy coffee. English muffin or two with grass fed butter, local peach marmalade and cheese.
