What R U Eating ? ~OGH wants to know.....

Looks good OS - and I make light of you only because I'm probably old enough to be alot you guy's dad , lol . But Im forever young at heart , I'll never grow up .

As far as the keto diet goes , Im helping out a neighbor and lowering my BF at the same time . I dont see myself doing this longer than a month , then I'll probably do like you and introduce carbs back into my diet then go full clean bulk . So far so good ....~Ogh

The latest science says the average male 185lbs absorbs around 30g protein every 2 hrs or so . I try to keep my meals at 30-50gms protein each, although I go overboard on steak & game . The last few days see me at 250-300 gms a day . Im going to taper that down to 200-250gms a day , max . ~Ogh

My question is this is the average male what about when my Test levels are 5000....does that increased protein synthesis allow me to gobble more. I still wouldn't suggest more than 40-50g a sitting but through out the day I would think you would have no problem synthesizing 350-400g of protein a day if you can get in you.

Good point Volt - as AAS users we synthesize protein better than non-users , making our systems more efficient at consuming larger amounts of protein . Theres also a point of diminishing returns , where huge amounts of protein are now be stored as fat or passed off . ~Ogh

I would think body composition would factor as well in the amount you could effectively uptake. I've never found any conclusive studies comparing effects of different sources of protein on body composition. I always assumed animal proteins + dairy yielded better results in building muscle but then I hear about all these athletes, NFL players that are Vegan and had to reconsider the idea of a plant based diet. The only thing I fear sometimes is that a lifetime of excessive protein intake could have a negative impact on my liver.

sorry no pics today guys, but i hit subway on my way back from publix and ordered 12" oven roasted chicken on wheat with swiss cheese toasted.. double meat and add an egg white patty... the girl looked at me like "wtf??"
could be the tbol or maybe my test e is starting to kick in but my appetite is THROUGH THE ROOF the past 2 days or so

I definitely agree with that on lower levels no reason to go above 0.75-1g per pound. But when you go blast I think one would have a hard time eating to much protein. Now we all know those guys yea had 5 protein shakes today that is horrible. You got to eat 75% of your protein and trying to eat more than 300g of protein a day is a serious chore.

I was against whey protein supplements when I was first introduced to this lifestyle. I tried eating over 300g of protein all in meat, mostly chicken and steak.
Wasn't long before I started having symptoms of TMJ.
It took months of eating as little as possible for the pain to subside.

Damn that would suck. Sorry to hear about and something to keep in the back of the mind. Never had any problems but I have had a a sore jaw before. It's a workout all alone. I believe in getting 2 in one with 2 scoops and water. The other 1 scoop of weigh and a half scoop of casein in vanilla almond milk with a teaspoon of Hershel's dark chocolate syrup it's the post workout. I am big fan of 6 week blasts so during that time realistically I am happy if I can squeeze 250g through food and get about 80 from the shakes. Cheat day I can get 300 but sloppy dirty :).

If one was the type of man who could eat 400g clean while on blast ...just imagine what that guy would look like.

Yea I do get sick of eggs , chicken & beef on a continuous basis , the whey protein drinks make it easier to hit those goals . I get around 300gm protein a day .Im only eating this much because Im lightly cycling , 750 test-c & 600 Equipose . ~Ogh

Your doing great OS - your my protege there grasshopper , if I leave your in charge of the kitchen , lol.

As far as the knowledge part maybe Im just a really good Googler , lol . Although I am a cook and a english major , that helps . ~Ogh

Regardless, thanks you to both, Oregon-guys. I have to keep my eye on this thread more often and do a bit more research. I know how essential diet is to any kind of training and I know very little on the subject. One of the many reasons I call meso home. If I look for information, there is always someone that knows more than me (true in life too).

Yah definitely what Atodd said, thanks for this thread. It keeps me thinking everyday.

Finally back on track today, gym and meals in check. In fact I just ate some ... Yep.. Chicken and rice!

bowl of cereal w/ almond milk and a banana to try to boost my energy a little this am.
egg whites/ground chx/salsa
ground chx/collards portioned through today and 2 cups of white rice as plan B
sweatin' like a whore in church...

anybody care to share a good well rounded chicken pasta recipe with me??:D:D

I need a break from plain chicken breasts and brown rice..

Keep it simple Ink - 6 oz cooked egg noodles (yum) w/ 6oz chicken cubed-up. Pick-up some "Better than Bouillon" chicken bouillon base (Walmart), its the best and use a sm tsp mixed in with the cooked pasta/chicken . Not too much because its salty , but thats my break food away from rice . Pasta has a bad rep , but it has no more carbs/calories than rice . Just dont go overboard . Good stuff , report back....~Ogh

PS- theres also a beef version of Better than Bouillon , works great for Beef and Noodles and Beef Stews....

ah another one is whole grain rotini, swiss chard, chick peas, and a slice of bacon.
Instead of the light italian dressing you can use lemon juice, minced garlic, and crushed red pepper to season.

Another good alternative to rice .....theres a bunch out there , just learn to cook and get creative . My aunt used to make this dish Tango.....

I started cooking when I was 5 with my grandma who was a fine cook/baker . I continued cooking at various restaurants until I was in my 30"s when I turned to mechanics & construction for more money , but cooking is still one of my passions. I think your a better BB if you can cook for yourself ....~Ogh
