13 days out from my powerlifting competition weighing in at 184lb in the morning and I believe as of 2 days ago it work mark 9 months since last pin.
Shooting for 1.75xbw bench 2.5xbw squat and 3xbw deadlift.
Good luck bud
The judges had it right this time. Looking at the video my wife shot of the prejudging, I was a little watery in places, and just not as hard in general. I took a chance and wanted to come in big and full, so I chose not to take any diuretics. I actually started on some low dose hctz Thursday afternoon and night, and Friday morning. 1/2 tab each dose, but decided to drop it out after Friday mornings dose. I was really dry and my water intake had been really high (2 plus gal) for 10 days, and I thought after I dropped my water out Friday afternoon/night that I'd dry out good Saturday morning. But.... I had to drop my water out a little early on Friday to make weight. I dropped it out at 2pm. Weigh ins were at 6pm. I ended up having to take a suppository at 4pm to shed the last 2 pounds. It worked! Lol. Weighed in at 223.0. But it sorta backfired on me not finishing out with the hctz. I think I could've came in super dry and possibly won the overall if I had've followed thru with it. I was just too scared of the hctz flattening me out too much, as it did the year before. I've gotta find a middle ground somewhere. It's all timing, as you know...
John Meadows is 44. He won his pro card in 2015
I think your close.

I hear you man. It's literally who manages to get it right for a day or two a lot of the time. The higher you go up the better everyone is and then it's just a matter of who gets dialed in the best.

It's hard to do even with the best coaches. Just look at the pros, they struggle getting it right all the time.

You gambled and went the safe route. It was a 50/50 shot man but you were in shape and improved from the previous year so that's still a win in my book.

Bodybuilding is always who's best that particular day. Different day, different approach who knows? It's still good to see another of us older guys smacking the young guns around. Enjoy your vacation bro.

So the guy that beat me won overal classic physique and overall bodybuilding. I plan to step on stage again in a few months again

Now this I'd have an issue with because the judging criteria for classic physique is very different from bodybuilding. By those standards, someone in the open bodybuilding class should theoretically be "too large" for classic physique.

I suppose the guy could just be a unbelievably aesthetic freak in totally pealed shape. I don't know though. Hard to see that happening at a big show, especially a NPC national qualifier.

There is the pics of him as a bodybuilder a few years back and the other pic is Saturday. He also won Pittsburgh npc classic overal as well

I will say this. I didn't win but I had an ifbb pro who has a big team around my area and has many guys national ranked find me on Facebook and ask me to be a part of his team. So that was a plus
Dude, that's a win! Hope they are chill folks!!

Yea he saw me backstage and reached then we spoke on Facebook

You were in great shape man so I'm not surprised.

Believe it or not, I've seen plenty of guys pick up sponsors the same way. They all know that there can only be 1 winner but that doesn't mean you don't have the goods. Congrats, just be really careful about signing any contracts. They can be very exclusive and hurt you down the road.

I'm familiar with him. He was a pretty good BB. He's right at the line for the CP division in my opinion. Almost too "big" but to be honest, if a legit heavy weight or super heavy had been there I don't think he'd have won the BB side of it. Although, he is popular (social media, ect... and politics does play it's part).

As an example, I watched a bloated and smooth but HUGE John Defendis (former USA winner) win a local national qualifying show just on his name when he was making a come back way back in the day. Everyone was buzzing because of who he was and there was no social media back at that time. It's just part of the game, especially now.

Be nice fuckers. After a couple months of craziness I'm back in the gym for real. Ill use this for reference of how not to neglect yourself.

Fuck you ben & jerrys!!!

Oh yeah, Ben and Jerry's has a reputation for holding guys down and forcing itself down their throat. It's pure delicious evil. :)

Don't sweat the time off man. Everyone has lay offs and shit that pulls us away from the gym.

Hell, I came up with the phrase "perpetual state of starting over" just because I know so many guys that seem to always be getting back into it every time I see them. Lol.
