Who is our biggest, most shredded member at Meso?

Looking good bro. Well balanced, no weak spots and your posing looks on point with confidence.

I see exactly what you were talking about in your earlier post. Just a slight film of water under the skin keeping you from looking as hard and as lean as you actually were. You'll get it dialed in on the next one. Solid outing @rutman.

Thanks brother! That really means a lot... Notice I didn't post any back pics. That's a MAJOR weak point for me. I did very well, and was winning some of the poses from the front and side, but when they turned us around, it was game over for me. My back has no depth or thickness compared to the rest of my body. I will not step on stage again until that issue is corrected. I'm making it a priority the next 10 months and will go from there.

Hell man, we all have our "weak spots" but it's good that you're honest with yourself about those areas so you can improve them quickly.

You always hear that shows are won or lost from the back so it's definitely an area that requires a lot of attention and work unless you're genetically gifted. No doubt you'll improve it. Good pics by the way. I'm guessing your wife took them. If so, let her know she did a great job.

Thanks man, that's actually been an area I've always thought I've lacked in.. I guess I improved it like I attempted. Thanks!!

Haha! Hopefully I can make it a bigger demon cat soon!
I was thinking a cross between mountain and African lion when I wrote cat. :)

They're Mark Mason pics. He travels to NPC/IFBB shows all over the country taking pics and videos.

IMG_2233.JPG What's up fellas? Thought it was time again to show that theirs a guy who actually lifts weights behind the avi. Summer cut in swing. Lost 9lbs of fluff since the winter bulk. Kept around 13lbs. Biggest improvements have been in the upper back.

I want to isolate the traps big time going forward so if any of you fellas have suggestions I'd love to hear them.

Looking solid...you should look great when done with the cut.

Brother you dont need to isolate traps yet. Do your basic tride and true back work and get that back up to snuff. The traps will follow
Bent barbell rows(too many variations to mention)
Upright Rows
Concentrate on chinups and pullups.
Lat pulldowns should be considered secondary till you can control at least 10 BW pullups/chinups. What do i mean by control? No bombing down on the negatives and the ability to start and stop the execution of the exercise at any point during the ROM
I know it aint sexy or what you wanted to hear but im just gonna shoot you straight.

Appreciate it. Those are all part of my current regiment. I do chin-ups everyday at the gym regardless of what muscle group I'm working. Chin up game is strong.

Theres some thing not adding up here man. You should reevaluate your training. I assume you want maximum growth potential, right? Or is this more just...ehhh when i can get to it?
I could tell you all sorts of trap isolation exercises but it wont be nearly as effective at building a strong, dense, wide back followed by a thick neck&delt region as compound exercises will.
Hows your execution?

Ur traps will develop with solid deadlift implementation.

About 20 years ago, I was a deadlifting machine that year.....hadn't seen my friends in at least 2 years. The joke at that party was...where the hell is Casca's neck.

I told them all night I couldn't hear them....they were all talking so loud to me[emoji1377]

I'm looking to grow. Running a GVT routine at the moment. Push/pull with compound lifts and assorted accessory exercises. Split into Chest/back legs/abs and arms/shoulders. If anything getting the cals daily is my struggle.

I'd say you need to get into the power rack and do some heavy rack pulls early in your back work if not first in the routine. Set the rack so the bar is just above your knees. Use a belt and some straps (we are not working grip here, we're working back and traps) so you can focus only on the back and traps.

Maybe add in some static holds with the heavier rack pull weight once you've completed the pulling sets. Just pull it and hold it there for 3-5 seconds working the negative side of the lift. Do that type of work week in and week out with some progressive overload techniques (adding weight, shorter intervals between sets, drop sets, ect...) for about 6-8 weeks then change it up (cycle the training) and you'll see trap and upper middle back thickness.

Dead-lifts are awesome but require a lot of legs also so to focus on the back and traps exclusively get in the power rack, chalk up and move some uncomfortably heavy weights.

I regularly do several lifts that indirectly target my traps. But nothing has made them grow like regularly doing heavy shrugs. I prefer dumbbell or machine over barbell. Doing them as heavy as you can without straps will have multiple benefits.

Building the traps up separately from doing rack pulls, deadlifts, rows etc will have more benefit, IMO, than doing those lifts and expecting it to have a ton of indirect carryover into traps. Strengthening traps directly will have a lot of carryover into other lifts.

this X 2

My bench has gotten better because of trap development. I noticed this after I started doing heavy deads and Db shrugs routinely. I was already doing shrugs but bringing the deads into the fold really helped
