Believe it or not I enjoyed the debate...I used to have contempt for believers and now I know many are good people with a different POV. I accept them for who they are....many Christians do not return the favor. I hope no hard feelings...none on my side!

You make a lot of good points. My feelings on religion, whatever it may be, is that it should be a personal thing, practiced only for YOUR benefit and no one elses. Believers shouldn't be concerned about what anybody else believes or doesn't believe.

Sounds all fine and dandy, except God commands believers in the Bible to care what others believe, and attempt to show them the love of Christ through their lives.

That is a Christians reason for existence.

Religion is man-made. Books with stories rationalized by men who didn't know anything about science...these books attempted to explain the unknown. Nothing more....man has bastardized these religions into what they are today....big business, a reason to kill others, a system of control.

The entire concept is ridiculous! The vast majority of people practice whatever religion they were born into. So all the Jews and Muslims and Buddists are going to hell because they were born into the wrong family?

The concept of going to hell if you don't worship my religion is nothing more than an attempt to increase Christianity's numbers, money and power in the world. After all, who could pass up a religion that promises you safety from eternal damnation?

I don't care how offensive it is. God didn't command me to go into all the world and unoffensively preach the gospel. He just commanded me to go. He commanded me to have love for my fellow man. I love the Muslims, even if we disagree.

Stop trying to make me, or my religion, out to be exclusive. It isn't. You want to be a part of the private club? Just JOIN! It's not arrogant to say that I turned my life over to Christ. I understand me stating my beliefs might be inherently offensive to people who have different beliefs, and vice-versa. I would never ask them to hold their tongue and disobey their God, in order to prevent from offending my feelings.

I think, perhaps he was just suggesting you were jaded about religion rather than being a horrible person. The content of your posts in this thread have certainly made you seem as though you want to disprove and insult both religion and the religious. You have repeatedly done both.
