Why there almost certainly is No God!!

A New Physics Theory of Life
https://www.quantamagazine.org/20140122-a-new-physics-theory-of-life/

Why does life exist?

Popular hypotheses credit a primordial soup, a bolt of lightning and a colossal stroke of luck. But if a provocative new theory is correct, luck may have little to do with it. Instead, according to the physicist proposing the idea, the origin and subsequent evolution of life follow from the fundamental laws of nature and “should be as unsurprising as rocks rolling downhill.”

The Hero with a Thousand Faces Joseph campbell. From reading this and many of his other books, you can see where the image of god came to be gospel in mankind's mind.

xenophanes believe god was a mass or ball of energy controlling the universe. We may never know.....

So from what I've gathered so far...

The bible- total bullshit.

Religion- cults of brainwashed people.

God/Gods/Higher powers- possible, maybe even probable.. Who really knows?

Mermaids- definitely

I looked him up. Interesting cat. The question is was he a jester, a smart-ass, or a code writer. And DID HE EVEN understand his own code... OR just an instrument...?

Mummy Mask May Reveal Oldest Known Gospel
http://www.livescience.com/49489-oldest-known-gospel-mummy-mask.html

This first-century gospel fragment was written on a sheet of papyrus that was later reused to create a mask that was worn by a mummy. Although the mummies of Egyptian pharaohs wore masks made of gold, ordinary people had to settle for masks made out of papyrus (or linen), paint and glue. Given how expensive papyrus was, people often had to reuse sheets that already had writing on them.

In recent years scientists have developed a technique that allows the glue of mummy masks to be undone without harming the ink on the paper. The text on the sheets can then be read.

...

"We have every reason to believe that the original writings and their earliest copies would have been in circulation for a hundred years in most cases — in some cases much longer, even 200 years," he said.

This means that "a scribe making a copy of a script in the third century could actually have at his disposal (the) first-century originals, or first-century copies, as well as second-century copies."

The Relentless Retreat: God in the Age of Science.

Is there anything more to be said about the conflict between science and religion?

Numerous peace efforts have tried to reconcile both parties, but their territorial disputes refuse to settle down.

In Religion and the Sciences of Origins, philosopher and Christian apologist Kelly James Clark focuses on questions about origins (of life, the universe and everything), one notable area where the “religious rubber meets the science road” (p. 7). http://www.amazon.com/Religion-Sciences-Origins-Contemporary-Discussions/dp/1137414804

After sketching the possible models for thinking about science and religion as he sees them (Conflict, Separation and Integration), Clark discusses a number of episodes in the history of science – the scientific revolution, the Galileo affair, the reception of Darwin’s theory – and moves on to some miscellaneous topics in the second half: fine-tuning arguments, the salutary effect of religion on society, dualism and the existence of the soul, the foundations of morality, free will, and science/religion in Judaism and Islam.

Borrowing the medieval metaphor of the Doctrine of the Two Books, Clarke maintains that there is no genuine conflict between science (The Book of Nature) and monotheistic religion (The Book of Scripture).

Religious believers need not fear the discoveries of science, as these do not jeopardize their faith.

The study of either Book can only enrich one’s understanding of the other.

Religion and the Sciences of Origins follows an endless spate of books on science and religion, most of them purporting to show that the twain can meet and live in harmony (see for example recent works by Alvin Plantinga, Alister McGrath, Michael Ruse, John Haught, Kenneth Miller).

Clarke’s contribution, which is accessible for a lay audience and requires no special background, continues that theme.

Whenever I doubt my faith I just look at the world today and the road we are headed down.

Biblical shit is unfolding all around us. No I dont think obama is the Anti christ but I do see a lot of things that show us moving towards this idea of new world order. Fingerprinting for food, disarm civilians, rumors of war, total unrest. These things are happening and for me its a clear indication that God exists.

As a kid I was raised Catholic (still in recovery by the way) but we heard stories of how the government would become one world govt. Everyone would be scanned for identification (spooky 666) and brother would turn against brother. Fast forward 35 yrs and its happening. This is the only tangible way I can justify my faith. Everything else I experienced is spiritual and subjective I guess even to me.

Im.a Christian n c nothing wrong with science. Science and math have n still can b used to.prove there is a God. Most Christians have it wrong and r to narrow minded to use the tools that God gave us. We need to stop worrying about telling others they are going to hell n start telling them.more about heaven. Yes there will always b the non believers so what let them keep digging up info to disprove there is a God. Sometimes while in thispprocess they find out who God is.

What if the universe doesn’t have a beginning?

Einstein’s general theory of relativity predicts that the universe originated from an infinitely dense single point and then exploded outward in the “big bang.” But this earliest state—known as a singularity—has caused all kind of problems for physicists since it was postulated.

Now scientists have created a new model of the universe that incorporates principles from quantum mechanics and doesn’t necessitate the existence of a singularity.

This doesn’t mean there wasn’t a big bang—the data that support the theory are still as robust as ever; the new model has simply found a way around the singularity issue.

EarthSky reports that, it instead theorizes that the universe has always existed as a kind of “quantum potential” that eventually collapsed into the hot explosion of the big bang. http://earthsky.org/space/what-if-the-universe-had-no-beginning
