Some tag team action. The Steiners and LOD are my shiiiit.
Also I used to be a big Demolition fan. Now they look like S&M freaks.
I saw the Steiner Brothers vs The Nasty Boyz wrestle in UIC Pavilion in the early 90's and the match got completely out of control! Scotty Steiner (before he became Big Poppa Pump) got legit pissed at Brian Knobbs of the Nasties and they started working REALLY stiff (wrestling code talk for they got legit pissed off at each other and REALLY started making more contact than the script called for) and I was in the 3rd row (no one attended those shows those days, maybe total of 2k fans there). It was brutal how effing hard they were hitting each other with their "fake" punches and forearm shots. I mean you heard the damn thud sounds. At one point Rick Steiner, along with 2 refs, had to pull his own brother off of the opponent Knobs because they began punching each other for real. Imagine watching a wrestling match where one guy pulls his partner off of the opponent in the middle of the match? Bizarre!
Im pretty sure Rick and Scott were at the least legit wrestlers before pro wrestling. Could be wrong. But I was a huge fan of the old Steniers in the wrestling one piece and letterman jackets.
Oh yeah I've been watching@vani11agori11a, I dont know if you've been watchin, but Slater's had a great storyline lately and won himself a championship.
He got knocked the fuck out quick by Bart Gunn though. Or it was Bradshaw. .. one of those two. In the brawl for all.Bahaha Yeah, the Varsity Club, they were called. It was comprised of legit amateur collegiate wrestlers. The Steiner Brothers (University of Michigan), Dr Death Steve Williams (Oklahoma University), Mike Rotunda (I believe Syracuse?), and maybe Danny Spivey (?).
They wore the singlets. And maybe head gear?
But, I promise you that Dr. Death Steve Williams was probably the legit toughest mother effer of all of them! Tough ass dude! Had a rep as a legit bad ass mofo you stayed away from!
Oh yeah I've been watchingI find the story hilarious, and am super excited that they're letting him show his intensity and skills finally. Last night was so awesome for him! I loved it

Truth, Michigan State alumnIm pretty sure Rick and Scott were at the least legit wrestlers before pro wrestling. Could be wrong. But I was a huge fan of the old Steniers in the wrestling one piece and letterman jackets.
When he was in FCW they even had him work a short program with Edge while he was world champ, because they had faith in him. But people fall through the cracks, it happens. I'm just glad his fuse is lit againThats the thing. He still has that comedy to him, but since he's been with Rhyno theyve given him some intensity back, hopefully that'll stick around. I know they won't keep the titles long, but I'd love a feud with the Miz down the line.

Meng / Haku.... HE was the baddest toughest guy in the history of wrestling. His encounters are stuff of LEGEND among the boys.

Yeah, I wasn't saying Dr. Death was the toughest ever in the biz, just in that group of Varsity Club.
I believe by the time that went down with Bart Gunn, Dr. Death had already had cancer twice and was quite a bit older and diminished physically, if I am remembering correctly, right?
Not Michigan State, but rather University of Michigan (Wolverines, blue and yellow). Correct?
I'm unsure whether he had already dealt with the throat cancer or not at that time, and am too lazy to search for verification, so I'll take you as correct on it. I DO know that the tournament was set up under the impression that DR. Death was going to run through everyone. And when lost it threw the whole plan out, and they brought in Butterbean. That alone speaks volumes to his legend as a legit Badass
And yes, my bad, UofM lol

It very well could have been. I mean he did ride Jack Swagger's Joc for the longest time. Simply because of the Sooner connection. LmaoOh no, Butterbean?! I was kinda trying to eliminate that guy from my memory. Haha
Oh, I remember another guy that use to always go on and on about Dr. Death.... damn JR wouldn't shut up about him for a long time there, but I always assumed that was just his biased fellow OU alum love coming out.![]()
Im lost
Are you guys arguing a characters badassery or a legit person
Cuz if so
Stone cold is the king of badasses![]()
JR was kissing Dr Death's ass for decades because of the Sooner connection. As for him being the toughest member of the varsity club...Rick Steiner was just as batshit crazy as Scott in those days, I think that would be a closer fight than you'd expect.
Haku/Meng's rep as a bad ass has been around for ages - I remember the dirtsheets reporting his legendary reputation even back in the 80s so yes, very much legit.
When you can work in Japan, where most of the guys have amateur wrestling/martial arts backgrounds, and in Mexico, where backstage fights to the death were a real possibility, and still be feared like Meng was - that says it all IMO.
