Man shoulders are TOUGH.So you had a leg injury. How do you train around it?
I’m having shoulder/upper Pec issues and the only way for me to let it rest is by doing no chest, shoulders, and even arms aggravates it. But it really messes with me mentally to take off for a couple weeks to let it heal. I think about if I waste all that down time and the area is still giving me issues. So just trying to get advice from someone dealing with injury.
Man shoulders are TOUGH.
Do you know what the injury is?
My injury before joining MESO was an SI strain from deadlifting and I went to a chiro/therapist specializing in athletes like every other day for 2 weeks. My recent injury was a groin pull on legpress. I stayed away from legs for a week and then eased back in to non-stability requiring movements. Slowly got it moving and engaged again and am still being cautious. I could absolutely be more proactive in warmups and be doing more for my current injury.
But that’s worlds easier than a shoulder issue. If you can, get to a specialist/PT to get it diagnosed. Shoulders can be nagging injuries that turn chronic.
So, 3 weeks in and here’s what’s up. I didn’t wait for 4 weeks because I will be overseas for vacation and expect that to be maintaining at best though I have ID’d a nice gym, plan to all-you-can-eat ass off, and soak up some sun.
First thing AM weight is up 3-4lbs, and as a rough estimate from photos I’d say recomp has accounted for around 2-3lbs so far. That would be a net of somewhere between 5-7lbs if my estimations and mirror aren’t lying. By no means drastic. Definitey a bit light for the oral+NPP, but it’s not shit weight. Have never been this lean or this heavy in offseason. I wouldn’t complain about adding weight faster, but I get the other side of the coin and shred easy.
Strength is good but not insane. Pumps are getting painful at times.
First photo is cycle -1 week (upside down smiley), other 3 are last couple days.
Happy so far. Trying my best to add more carbs wherever possible. Eating is definitey a challenge at the moment. Thanks for following along so far guys.
Grape juice is a good alternative, too. I use it a ton. I do 50/50 grape juice (or pineapple) and gatorade.Decided to make use of the 1.5” harpoons I was sent by mistake. Cutting down the caps turning it to a .75” 25g. The 1.5” 20s they sent are fill pins now.
Also, decided I have better ways to spend money than expensive carb soups right now. So Gatorade it is. Start sipping roughly 15mins in to workout.
Thanks! Being leaner certainly helps you see where it’s going and what’s changing.
I'd be pleased with the bicep/front delt tie in right here. Looking good and like mature muscle!
Usually 90 mins total including the main muscle group(s), calves or abs, and some posing.awesome log bro, looking fucking swole!
How long are your workouts usually?
Back from paradise boys. Sorry for the hiatus.
Will get back to daily training logs today.
In the meantime, vacation was amazing and I managed to stay mostly on track (enjoyed some booze but kept cals up and trained 4 of 7 days down there).
If you guys are looking for extra cals and can’t stomach any more food I highly recommend Lean Gainer by RivalUs. I brought a 10lb bag, used about half of it in the week (2-3x a day to make sure I didn’t whither away).
Body weight this AM was 203.x but that should all be water weight lost.
Aruba. Stayed at the Divi and trained at Bodytech. Great gym. Food was also great; fresh grilled tenderloin, tuna, and grouper with tons of rice all week. It was pretty close to perfect for bodybuilding lol.Where did you go Mac?
I’m headed to the Caribbean in December. It’s all inclusive and I’ve been scoping the sushi bar and buffet set ups.
I’ll likely train some too if the gym decent...
How's grouper??Aruba. Stayed at the Divi and trained at Bodytech. Great gym. Food was also great; fresh grilled tenderloin, tuna, and grouper with tons of rice all week. It was pretty close to perfect for bodybuilding lol.
