Shit man...talk about a bad life sequence. Sounds like you're a tough SOB and it was just part of what needed to get done. But fuck man, sounds like it fucking killed there for a bit. Glad your through it though. Thanks for sharing.
For what it's worth, I'm particularly prone to gyno. Never had much of a problem many years ago while competing (late 1980s). But then about five years after the last time I'd used any roids, it flared up badly on both sides. My natural T tested out to be a bit more than expected for my age but not outrageously high or low. It was painful to the point that it was interfering with my ability to properly wear my body armor (I was a metro cop then) so I went in and had the surgery on both sides. The doctor cut most everything out of there. Yet even now, using things like Sustanon for the first time in almost 20 years, what little tissue is left in there did flare up for about the first six weeks. I am using Nolvadex daily which seems to have knocked it out. Like I said there's very little tissue left inside but what is there did flare up and it was pretty painful for a few weeks.
Over the years I've heard people complain about how painful the surgery can be. It definitely was pretty sore for a while after. After maybe ten days I was able to go back into body armor and go back on the street. If what I experienced is any guide, don't let worries about pain or complications keep you from getting the surgery if you need it. If it goes right it's not bad. For me the only really painful part was actually a freak accident, in that during the surgery the surgeon damaged a subcutaneous artery, and a few hours after I went home it let go and bled like a motherfucker. At the same time the drain the surgeon put in clogged, so I had to go right back to the hospital with what looked like a half of a purple grapefruit under the skin and believe me, that did not feel good at all. And that's the story of how I had to have surgery twice in the same day. The worst part was cauterizing the bleed. They'd put me under with what turned out to be an insufficient dosage of Versed and Demerol, and I woke up right in the middle of it with smoke sizzling up out of the hole in my chest. I admit that did sting a little.
But besides that it wasn't bad at all. :^D
