Nothing wrong with checking sugar different times of the day, but in general: fasting blood glucose is a good marker for insulin resistance, and with fasting we generally mean. Before the first meal in the morning where last meal should be 6+ hours before.Berberine or metformin is most common, also things like semaglutide can be used to lower glucose as well. I would also check at different times of the day sometimes mine will be slightly on the high side in the morning but lower later in the day
