Hair Loss

Awesome post! I’ve been using nizoral and minidoxil for a couple months and have seen some more growth

Glad it's working for you.

*note for other readers: this is not a typical response. These drugs are better at preventing further hair thinning then they are at producing more hair growth.

I got a hair transplant an about a month ago. It was recommended after the procedure that I give dermarolling/microneedling another try. I currently use ru 55841, minox, and finasteride.

I ordered a 1.5mm dermaroller (coming from a .5mm) off of Amazon and used if for about 30 seconds before giving up again. My scalp is either extremely sensitive, I’m a bitch, or a combo of both.

I ordered a Dr. Pen Ultimate M8 microneedler and some 16 pin cartridges to give this one last try. HUGE difference. I’m going to start using this once every week or two.

If you can’t tolerate dermarolling, give a microneedle pen a try. I’m sure someone else has already recommended this, but there’s much less discomfort.

Microneedling might also be better. Something about dermarolling tearing the skin vs just poking holes (microdamage).

I don't recall the science but anyway I prefer Dr Pen.

really a manual dermaroller is more painful than an automatic pen?

General advice is to not apply topicals the same day you microneedle or dermaroll. Seems reasonable since you're only doing it 1-2x/wk.

Man, definitely. I wonder how some guys insist you get better absorption if you apply topicals after rolling, dude it's an open wound and you pour chemicals that are meant for your scalp skin and not your bloodstream, jeez! With a tiny dermaroller at least 12 hours, with a bigger one if the penetration is susbstantial i would wait at least a full day. You don't mess your protocol for skipping one day.

Pen is superior to all but it costs more. Not that much though, i think you can find em with 100 bucks? Also there is another device which is somewhat in the middle of dermaroller and dermapen. It's the dermastamp, it's actually like a stamp with tiny needles. Many people use this.

Anyone have experience with 5mg daily minoxidil for hair thinning on the crown of the head only? My hair line is great but thinning pretty bad in the crown since being on b&c for a couple years. I’ve been using topical for 3 months but it makes my hair sticky and it’s just inconvenient twice a day so my doc gave me the oral version to try. Just wondering others experience with that particular case.

i use 2.5mg oral+ topical once a day, but like 2-4ml to cover all scalp
i feel topical give more results, with that said i also use 2.5mg oral minox since late 2021, i tried 5 mg for a while but i what i saw was lot more body hair.
one time i also drop topical minox for 3 months and even with 5mg oral minox, i lost some ground, so...

Has anyone tried scalp micropigmentation? As an easier and way more affordable way to cover the scalp instead of doing a transplant. I'm looking for the shaved look smp in the internet and i really dig it. You still have no hair but it looks like you have and you trim it down. Only downside i see at least with that mini research, for that look you have to shave your head eod to not look weird. I guess the other types of smp just fill the blanks between your hair.

Just putting my own hair stack for an update:

Oral dutasteride (I had been taking oral fin to maintain hair for 20y but last year when I started TRT the extra DHT did some damage to hair and thinned it out a bit. Hairline is fine because I had a few grafts planted few years ago.

Oral minox 2.5 mg daily. On advice of hair surgeon not sure if it does anything. Just been taking it.

Topical minox 5% for 20 yrs. But since getting raws last year I’ve home brewed 8% blend for myself. Sprinkle some dut raw in there also.

RU 5%

I had good exp w pyralutamide but feel it’s too expensive and haven’t found a Chinese supplier. I cringe buying anything from USA based scalpers , whether gear or peptides or hair stuff. RU I just brew the 5%

Daily keto 2% shampoo.

Gear I’ve been running

Test 200-300 per week
Primo 500-900
Mast 700
Couple of cycles of tren at 500-700 as part of the above stack.

Oh and winstrol. Basically the worst hair gear lol.

No issues.

The ONLY time I got shedding was when I was rh bing 800 primo and I added 100ng daily injectable winny. With 50 mg I’ve had no issues.

It could also be because the dut nukes my natty DHT so there’s less overall load. If I weren’t systemically nuking it I’d pay attn to the overall load. Even if using topical anti androgens like RU

So tried fin before and stopped after 5 months cause felt like it wasn't working. Recently decided to give it another go. I'm about 4 months in and having a real bad shed right now. Thinking I'm a loss cause. Going to see a hair transplant specialist next week but not even sure there's much they can do for me. Prob just gonna give up and do the ole shave.

First pic is before fin. Overall thinning.

2nd pic is currently with hair dry. 4 months on fin. Hair looks and feels dead.

3rd pic. Incoming terrible. This is after apply rosemary oil I wanted the hairs to get stuck together so you can get a real good look at scalp. Not sure if there's tiny hairs coming in or not. But shows you really how bad it is. Not sure if there's little hairs coming in. I

Even with transplant you need to be on fin or dut

many times it get worst before get better
u need to be on fin at minimum 6 months , but for what isee lots of people only start seeing results after 12 months some only almost 24 months, and even with the improvement its normalto have sheds going afew step backs but always better than NO FIN.

If you don´t control your hair loss with fin/dut before HT and continue the use , for sure you will loose results real quick,

what was your FIN dosage? are y using steroids?

So I started fin 1 mg March of 2023. Ran it until August where I lowered the dose to .5 mg a day. Didn't seem like it was helping so I dropped it late October. After a month of being off it I decided to try it again. So I started 1 mg again in December 2023 and currently have been on it until now. I am on trt 150 mgs test a week
