I don't think I have the numbered ones. I have beginner 1 four weeks, beginner 2 four weeks and then certified master of sport 4 weeks.

Soemthings not right. You shouldn't be doing CMS (Certified Master of Sport) unless I'm off about your maxes or body weight.

Assuming you're around 275lbs, then it means you need a 1540 total to be considered CMS and benefit from the CMS programs. If your total is less than that at 275lbs then you're either a level 1, 2, or 3 lifter and should just stick to the numbered programs.

Edit* didn't I email you the numbered ones?

You sent me a pdf so I couldn't change anything... I downloaded an xls file I found. I'll look a little deeper on the old google.

That's one hell of a workout. Way to kill it. I have been very tempted to make the switch to PLing. At the very least it would be a nice shock to run through one of these programs. How's the back holding up?

Yes, this workout brought new meaning to brutal for me lol. Very hard to get through. I'm alive and back is surprisingly better than I expected. For my pulling tonight, I really focused on contracting my glutes as hard as I could from the beginning to lockout. It took some of the strain off my back I'm guessing.

Every time I read your log I tell myself "I want him to go full PLing." Lol. It has to be your decision though so I've kept pretty quiet although my post history suggests you know which way I'd lean :p. if you do go PL route, at least run a full block of training (whichever methodology you decide to follow) but run it through to the end which should be at least 3months or more. Peak and re-test maxes and assess your progress and goals at that point. Your posterior chain muscles will be hammered hard with any PLing routine and you could easily add some work for anterior muscles/aesthetics if desired.

Glad to hear the back is doing good after all that activity.

I just think it would be a good change of pace. Keep things interesting. Like you said I could always add some anterior muscle/aesthetics work as well. I just like to be well rounded and you can never have to much knowledge. I've never gone all out either way. Just don't know which one I going to make the lunge for first. But if I do decide on the PLing I know who I'll be hitting up to get started. Keep crushing those workouts.

Power lifting is plain fun if you ask me and it works very well with setting different models of goal setting. My whole life i have done high volume bodybuilding but in the last 4 years or so it has become what some call power building. Now im at the point to were i simply know that i dont want to step on stage and pose simply because i dont have the money and time and health to spare for modern bodybuilding. But i want to compete never the less as i want to win at something i have dedicated my life into.20+ years i have been lifting.I have been huge so many times just to start over.Strength though is something that seems to allways stick as i never had much problem building it back up after a long layoff or any set backs. So that is why i have chosen to transition into full power lifting. At the moment im making 5lb per week gains running a straight lp system and its great. Also i have noticed that Plifting does build muscle..nice dense solid tissue.

doc have you found that your muscles are still sore from day 1 of the week when you hit day 2 on sheiko?Or have you adapted.

Im doing madcow... chest mon and fri.squats mon, wed, fri.Ohp wed.And deads on wed.But its lowish volume so im recovering ...enough.

I've adapted some and not as sore as I was when I first started but there is still a good amount of lingering soreness each day. I've started the volume block now which is a tough block.

Seems eq would be good to run along the side of those 16 weeks..off topic a bit but was a thought. What are your thoughts on the lack of horizontal and vertical pull accessories?

I could get through a bench workout at those percentages. ZERO chance at getting through that many sets of pulls at those percentages. Full credit for gutting it out. I would have to go several levels down from where my numbers put me to have any shot at completing a Sheiko cycle.

Sheiko tends to minimize accessor my work and keep the focus on the main lifts. It's a change not having horizontal or vertical pulls but not saying it's bad. One can always add in something if necesssary.

I just finished my first session with #29.I have to say it was a blast.I do know hell is coming though.I added chinups at the end.I want be adding anything else but i have worked my ass off on my chinups to get them proper so i want be dropping those..ever.
