Meso Powerlifting Corner

Looks like 405??? Great depth and form. That's def a powerlifting beard if I've ever seen one.

PS. Those plates are bad ass. Love using them at my coach's gym
Yea just 405. I've been training with a little lower percentages and absolutely refusing any compromise in my form or technique and it's paying off in dividends. I know that sounds like common sense but it takes myself and I believe many other guys who get into the "heavy" sports a while to truly learn to let go of that pride and do what's best in the long run. At least that's been my experience.
And yeah , I love the old beat up standard plates we have at my gym. Just seems more in my element than the new rubber, perfectly fit to the bar, non rattling bumper plates.

Well you hit "depth" and then some with that 405 lol. The pic makes it look like a paused squat just bc it's a still pic but bad ass nonetheless. Sheiko is one of the biggest proponents of using relatively lower percentages to reinforce form technique but he also uses it to get his athletes stronger. You're basically following some of his principles and he's one of the best to ever do it. Do you find at heavier percentages your fork tends to break down more often?

It was paused, just slightly, that's actually a screenshot from video. I can't upload bc obviously my face is in it. I wouldn't know how to block my face in video really.
As far as form breaking down at higher percentages, I wouldn't say it's drastic. But I recently looked back at some footage and just wasn't happy with what I saw as minor inefficiencies, lapses in technique if you will. In a way I guess I've took a perfectionist approach to my lifts, as I think it's the best thing for my training at the point I'm at.

The sign of a good lifter is being able to go over past sessions, find mistakes, and fix them. Good job.

There is room though working with less than perfect form. Grinder training, working on grinding. Through the lift will teach you to push through instead of giving up during a heavy attempt. This kind of training has less than perfect form by design. Shouldn't be done all the time but is useful.

I've also wondered if its possible to edit video to take out your face.
This would be an awesome place for form critique, but it's also a great place to incriminate yourself lol.

Anything you edit using free software im sure can be unedited by an amateur hacker.
I just pass my videos to trusted bros. Theres a few here. They get em. Nobody else. Thats what the pm feature is for
