Meso Powerlifting Corner

I think @Masters Power was running it awhile back if I remember correctly. I've looked at it a little, but never tried it.

I ran the Candito bench program. It turned out not to be a good fit for me. The first several weeks of volume overload the numbers were too easy for me, likely because I was used to running the Bulgarian method benching were I work up to a training max 6 days per week. Then when the volume dropped down and the weight went up in the program it was too high for me in the week 5 sessions. I didn't get anything out of the programming but it could work for someone who isn't used to the frequent volume and can do a lot more reps at around 90% of their bench max than I can.

Im now a proud owner of a 325x5 bent barbell row 3 sets. That is my new pr!!
Got my 405 front squat last week!
All cycle goals complete and exceeded
SUCCESS!!!
How did that 405 front squat feel? I know the first time I did it, it was really wild feeling the bar bend and whip as I unracked and walked out, and then squatted. I guess it could have been the particular bar I was using, but I felt the same way doing negatives with bench press over 4 plates. Bar whip is a weird sensation when u feel it on a lift you've never experienced it on before. All the bars at my gym really start to flex at the 4 plate mark. Congrats on the pr

A few seen the video here. Admittedly it was a tad high. Would NOT have been a go in competition but i was glad i got the experience. It wasnt bad till i got near parallel then it freaked me out. Brother if youd like to see the video ill show it to you. Youve done your time. Im confident your not the 5.0
How's the steak and egg diet going?
Great...actually. 5 days down. Today is cheat day. Vince said i can eat whatever i want today. So i am. The carb glucose spike is insane when you go 5 days at no(little)carbs. Already made a breakfast stop at the golden arches, had a second breakfast, 2 large coffees and looking forward to a whole lot more food today.

Sure man you can send it over if u want.
Doing my best to emulate DW:cool:
And psh, trust me , you're past me in a lot of ways. Im still learning and improving every training session, got a long way to go before I'm on a level with alot of you guys.

Ive heard of a Texas Method Template where you do DL on volume day since the intensity day version wasnt helping people enough. Anyone seen a copy of this? I cant find it.

Also Im looking for a template to run that hits all the big 3. 3 to 4 days a week. Hopefully where you can plug numbers and go. I was planning on running Candito's 6 week program, but its 5 days a week and really high volume (as MP said). Not sure its for me. Any ideas on programs for me on my come back would be very much appreciated. Thanks

You do 3x5 deadlift on volume day, I believe. It's the only way to run TM in my opinion. One set of deads a week doesn't cut it.

Yeah. I did it with the one set my first time. My bench and squat did great, but I plateud quick on DL.

So this we you do all 3 volume day? Do you do all 3 on recovery also?

No, I did power cleans, rows or chin ups on recovery day when I ran it. I forget what it's supposed to be though. It's definitely not more deads.

Ill look. I never liked the fact the cube only does 1 lift a day and one of each a week. Ill admit I dont know much of anything about Smolov though.
The version of cube I was doing was each lift each session.

3 types of lift: heavy, volume, dynamic each session.

And 3 x 3 week blocks so heavy dead, volume bench, dynamic squat on say Monday,
Then heavy bench, dynamic deadlift, volume squat Wednesday
Then heavy squat, dynamic bench, volume deadlift Friday...
And so on until you've done each type of exercise for each lift...

I've looked at that program and I really like the look of it. Plus the extra BB day every week I like, too.

You have any links to that one? Sounds interesting. Ive been googling but I might not be using the right key words.
