Meso Powerlifting Corner

No one should do Smolov when coming back from an injury or surgery. That's just asking to be put riht back on IR.

Its funny, I looked it up on powerliftingtowin and that was the very first thing it said. THIS PROGRAM IS FOR PEOPLE WITH NO INJURIES.

To be fair I think he was just listing plug and go programs.

I feel like I should be beyond them by now, but I hate overthinking training.

Doing deadlifts on volume day is advised against by the people who popularized the program. Trying to do volume squats, bench and pulls all in one day will take way too long and/or you won't have gas in the tank for deads at the end. The 2 ways around this that seem to make the most sense to me are keep deadlifts on ID and do an alternate pulling movement on VD. Such as deficit deads, RDLs, SLDLs, etc and do 3-5sets of 5-12reps on them. The other method is to break VD up into 2days. So do volume swuats, bench and an accessory on day 1. Day 2 do volume deads and an accessory or two. Day 3 is recovery day and day 4 is ID

You have any links to that one? Sounds interesting. Ive been googling but I might not be using the right key words.
If I remember right, I got the program off "Black Iron Beast" so I'd have a Google for that and cube. If you still can't find it, let me know, yo.

I cant seem to find a modified cube method. Everyone I see is Monday - Deads + accessories, Wednesday - Bench +, Friday - Squats+
I do like the one day bb day though.

Im thinking a little more towards 4 day TM. But I got time to figure it out

It seems I am somewhat mixing up my Programs, there, Dude.
The other one we were playing with was Westside/Conjugate.

The one I *thought* was the cube was, on reflection, one I designed myself based on Prilepin's Table and it fucked me six ways til Sunday.

So I got a dilemma guys... My DL and Bench are increasing at a steady pace, right along with the program I'm using. I'm expecting to pull mid 5's within the next 6 weeks... and I'm expecting at least 285 bench. However my squat, which was significantly better than my bench, is lagging behind in the program.... what can I do to remedy this? Box squats, paused squats? Idk...

I'm at a place in the prog where I'm doing 5 sets of 6 @ 80%.. and I'm only getting 4 sets w squats, before I feel my CNS / body is shot... but I can pull deads all day. Perhaps it's form?? I've been concerned about my form, but I feel I've made significant improvement on it. Any suggestions?

I don't know you're program but could be built up fatigue. 6-rep sets at 80% should leave you with at least a rep or two in the tank.

You can't just start throwing random variations at it. You'll have to diagnose what's going wrong, where you fail, what your weak point might be, etc. It sounds like you're just fatigued if you can't finish your sets though.

I never take fatigue into consideration. I suppose I should. I thought fatigue wouldnt be an issue, since I was doing high volume work before starting this program. I'm doing 915 by Christian tribadeau, or however his name is spelled. Picked it cos it's only 8wks long and seemed like a simple, linear program.

I know that around the end of my 4th set I start failing out of the hole. As @Docd187123 and you have both said, this could just be built up fatigue... but my head always wants to point to an issue I can correct.
