Meso Powerlifting Corner

He has a strange looking physique.
If his neck wasnt so big i wouldnt even think he lifted

I don't know, he's pretty big. Probably it's just pictures don't do him justice with his shirt on. I believe he's 6' or 6'1".

Anybody follow Pete Rubish? He's saying he's going to pull 1005 in a few weeks and I believe be the lightest guy to pull over 1000.

He is a beast but I didn't think he was up to a 1,000 pd, pull yet. Is this going to be with a deadlift bar and standard plates or is it like a strongman contest with the tires or whatever that cuts down the ROM?

I'm not sure, I haven't watched his videos on it yet. He did just pull 900 for the first time recently and he has grip issues, so I'm not sure how he's doing it.

Years or a lifetime. You are truly pushing human limits at those weights particularly as relatively small Pete is compared to others pulling similar numbers.

This is true, but at 1000lbs you're approaching your limit. Seems like it'd take longer to get there. Maybe it's different for the gifted though.
The only thing they have we dont is gifts
Some have more than others
How long did it take Phil Heath to reach Mr. O status? Some thing like 5-8 yrs? From nothing
Kevin Levrone went from ordinary Joe to Mr. O competitor in 6 months

These are the gifts they have.
No matter how long some one has been PL they all will not reach 1000 lb deadlift. Only a small percentage have what it takes to endure the training to get there

I'm pretty sure I've got 700's in me. Beyond that I don't know. I'd only consider myself a little blessed in the strength department.

He's so fucking small in comparison to the others pulling that weight. I follow him, for sure.. he's got some damn good advice

Strength is one thing
Enduring the training and staying injury free is another. Training at a high level means injuries.

Yeah, I'm starting to realize that. Because of an injury I've only been able to deadlift a handful of times for this meet prep. I make it worse every time, but I'm pushing through until after and then I'll have to take time off.
