Meso Powerlifting Corner

I didn't the SBD belt in your gear review thread. Did you get one? How is it compared to other belts you have used.

It's more comfortable and the on the fly adjustment lever is the best of a prong belt and lever belt together. It's a 13mm 4" and out of box was more comfortable then my 2 year old inzer 10mm prong belt but at the same time has more support. That all being said it's 3x the price and your best bang for your buck is the inzer by far no question... but if you are a SBD gear whore like myself you won't be disappointed in the purchase as long as it's not money you need for anything else

It looks sweet. Now to debate on the inzer or SBD belt. SBD makes qualify gear. I have only purchased the knee sleeves which are the best knee sleeves. Thanks for the review.

I'm getting ready to start my 2nd cycle and wanted to start a PL program as well. Smolov Jr. seemed like it would be good but DL seems like an after thought. I've always wanted to try the Texas method and have seen it run with good success. Sheiko was badass and I wouldn't object to running that again but I am wondering if I would gain more by trying different programs?

has anyone ever tried the Smolov program? how did you bring DL into the fold? thanks guys

edit, as always, read a little more before you ask your questions lol. starting to find my answers

You guys are all talking about your fancy belts and here's me just using my dad's hand-me-down. Lol. I hate lifting gear, but I will admit I bought a pair of strong sleeves and those fuckers saved my squat. I was stuck in the low 300's because I felt like I was going to fall apart if I went any higher. 6 months of training with those and now my squat has gone up over 100lbs and feels great.

Nothing wrong with old gear. My inzer is the only "expensive" thing I have. And that was bc I was tired of other belts falling apart, luckily never mid lift. The lifetime warranty basically made the belt pay for itself , although I doubt I'll ever have to use it. The good brands seem to build shit right the first time.

Smooth pause squats at 425 the other night. My squat hasn't felt this good in a while. I dont think I timed things right to hit that 405 bench and 600 deadlift this year, but I'm damn happy with the progress I've made in strength and my physique. 2017 is setting up to be another good year as well. Can't wait to see what all you guys manage to throw down for totals. @Perrin Aybara thanks for always coming with solid and kind advice. Never see u being a dick and it really shaped how I try to contribute around the forums. @RodgerThat I appreciate all you do as far as the gear reviews, helped make my Xmas list a little easier. Also the hot chicks you post over in the other great thread of meso. @jaymaximus thanks for starting my "home" thread. I always know I can come here and read solid advice from solid dudes. And don't think I'm forgetting you other guys. I could sit here and list off all of you but you know we all keep this the most legit training and lifting thread on meso. Thanks for a kick ass 2016 year in lifting heavy ass weights bros!

This was all a plot. The least knowledgable powerlifter started this thread to steal all y'alls knowledge and experience. So thanks for helping me out. :)

Don't feel bad, I didn't hit a 405 bench this year either. I think I remember the first thread of yours I participated in. Wasn't it about having a threesome? Anyway, 2016 was pretty kick ass for lifting heavy weights, looking forward to 2017.

After chasing the mass the last few years I long to be in top shape like I was 3 yrs ago when I did HST training . I got dense/hard as a rock and had mad endurance . So back to HST training I go , 3 fullbody workouts/wk - 2 sets only of each exercise--one week 15 rep sets then the next week 10 rep sets then next week 5 rep sets then back to 15 reps all the while increasing weight . Brutal some days . I already did my first workout starting lite. Its just like I remember ....

Actually its 2 weeks each of 15/10/5 reps for a total of 6 weeks when finished , although you can just keep going on .....;) This will be my 3rd time completing it ...

So does anyone also bench more close grip? Every time I widen my grip and work on it for a few months it just doesn't go up as smooth as when I grip close. When I was about 15 I benched with a close grip all the time.
