Meso Powerlifting Corner

My self restraint was seriously tested today, some dip shit thought it would be a great idea to rummage through my gym bag while I left it near the squat rack and was refilling my water jug. I came back with him holding my belt and wrist wraps just standing up and turning towards the door that is right beside the squat rack I had placed my bottle on a stool while I walked over and grabbed his shoulder and right before I was about to knock the fuck out I dropped my fist and told him it be wise if he drops my shit and never come to this gym again. He wasn't as stupid as he looked cause he said shit dropped it and was out faster then you could blink.

Dropping him like a sack of patatos would have been too easy he was about 6' 170lb like a bean pole. Although not as satisfying as giving him a dirt nap seeing the rear of god in his eyes was enough for me.

Had to vent that.

Dude wtf, that's some nerve to just blatantly steal from someone at the gym that obviously couldn't be too far away.

You definitely have more self restraint than me. I would have frisbee'd a 5lb plate to his teeth quicker than I could have got close to him. If u steal from me, whatever. But you better be damn sure I'm not going to catch you in the act.

You dont believe in god. Lol
So how could you see some thing imaginary in his eyes?

Anyone have experience with atlas stones? There's a small strong man comp in June and a larger one in October that a friend of mine is wanting both of us to enter. Viewing last years results I think we could do pretty well.

The log press and sleds I'm experienced with and can acquire the equipment to train. The stones will be the only new thing to me. So just curious if anyone has used them, what exercises have good carry over if I can't train with stones frequently, or any other good advice?

I have some atlas stones I occasionally train with, just a 120lb, a 175lb, and a 225lb.
Some of the best carryover exercises seem to me to be zercher squats, atg front squats, deficit deads.

The hardest part is the initial pull.you need to set up over the stone like you're tea bagging it, and scoop it to your thighs, then change forearm position to the top of the stone, pull it into yourself, stand and roll.

Any exercises that make you work down low definitely help you.

This was from a few years back. He had Justin Harris, who does articles for EliteFTS and I beleive is an IFBB pro, write out a diet plan for him. There is a few videos about it floating around somewhere
Only reason i brought it up is cuz i was looking at some John Meadows programs and i guess he tours with John for seminars or some thing? Showed what i suspect is a recent photo looking pretty muscular in. More so than the one i posted

Thanks man. Good to know my history with front squats will help, but bad to know deficit deads are something I hate.

We're looking at getting some molds for a few size stones up to 300~ lbs or so. Hopefully I can get some good training in with them before doing any competitions.

yes, they do the Underground Sports Summit every year with a few other guys. and they both go speak together at other seminars. just look up Dave Tate or John Meadows UGSS on youtube and youll find the stuff. Tate and Meadows live very close to each other so they have been training together at times for some years now i believe.

I live fairly close to those boys as well but thus far they haven't asked me to join their training sessions although I have trained at the EliteFTS compound.

Tested my training max yesterday for deadlift and bench press.

Got 520lb for a two singles for deadlift and 320lb for two comp pause singles for bench. I did this as a second workout in the day too after squatting and benching in the morning so I was quite fatigued.

My morning weight was 183.4lb my training weight was 188.6lb
