Not sure what may be structurally going on but do you wear knee sleeves? Doubt they will help since it sounds like you may have a ligament issue but they probably wouldn't hurt.

No, I don't have knee sleeves. When I was younger I got cracked in the knee a few times with a pipe. It wasn't broken or anything and I'm not sure that's the cause or at least the only cause, but it's given me trouble over the years, even when I wasn't lifting. When I first started lifting I squatted high bar and let my knees cave and that's when it really started flaring up again.

Whenever mine acts up I usually do as much as I feel comfortable then move on. It's not all the time just random. I hit 407 the other day and no pain at all. Today warming up with 135 and I knew I wasn't going to get 187.5 for 5 sets of 10. Hoping the sleeves help some.

Yeah, I just went on to bench today. Last time I took a week off squats. I'll probably skip them Saturday and try again Tuesday. These last few weeks are vital, too.

Toss some reps for me as I've taken 3 shifts on xmas so the guys with kids can stay home so there's no way I'm hitting the gym.

My dog will never leave me he whines if I'm not beside him at home and is 100% obedient to me and not so much to females so he is perfect lol
