Meso Powerlifting Corner

I had to workout this morning since I worked later. Got up and went in for the 1st time since I started PLing with no food in my stomach. Just a shake.

Big mistake. I had no energy and got light headed. Last time I do that.

Ya last time I didn't eat before a lift I had to stop 3 sets of squats as I was greying out and would have collapsed if I went for anymore. 90g of gronola and 250g Greek yogurt and a banana is my preworkout lately and it's been sweet!

Ive been hurting all day. Eating like crazy to make up for it. I learned my lesson though.

Blue one will add about 10# to your bench red one about 30# yellow about30-50 and black one about 100# but also shouldn't use the black one unless you are pushing 4 plus plates a side

Im hoping to be at 4 plates on the bench NLT then end of feb.

Your gonna be a happy man. your girl is treating you right she defiantly deserves a little extra nooky for that! Careful with starting with singles with it thou it's a weird feeling is go 70% of 1rm just to feel the bar path it creates

I've used the Reactive one a few times and also another type of one called The Ram. Should be good to go and I'm not going for 1RM+50 anyway. Work sets today are 330 2x2, so I'll probably just see what 365 feels like with the slingshot.

I think I need one of these. Where did you get yours??

RodgerThat has you covered with that link, but I think my girlfriend ordered from there, too. I'll give y'all an update on it in my log when I try it out today.

I have many years of lifting under my belt but it's all been bodybuilder style lifting. I know next to nothing about PLing. There are several cycle threads and of course this one that I have been reading and I must say I am quite interested.
Please excuse me for sounding stupid but I don't understand how using a devise like the slingshot is going to help you increase you raw 1RM. If it in essence it is assisting you where you can increase your weight from 10 to 100 pounds, how is that going to help you when you're not using them?

It helps you overload the lift, allowing you to lift more weight than you normally could have or do more reps and sets with the same weight. The slingshot also helps you keep your benching groove with teaching you to keep external rotation in the shoulders. It can help your CNS get used to handling bigger weights so your normal working weights "feel" lighter.

beaten by doc again damn! Ya he hit every point

How long are y'alls normal training sessions?

Just asking because mine used to be 90-120 minutes bit now Im getting out in about 65 avg.

All depends on training intensity. I could train for 2 hours and feel satisfied or just completely break myself off in 45 minutes and crawl out of the gym. Just depends.

Good googly moogly. No wonder you look like that.

Just my happy place man, I've got the time for it and it relaxes me, it's a beautiful thing just you and the iron. I will do things during tests though like my meal plan for the next day, catch up on my meso readings but usually I try to just sit empty headed and calm. The stretch does take 30-60 minutes of that and it's what it my major time variable as my workouts are generally similar

Yea. My gym here sucks. Houts are horrible. That was one reason I had to switch programs, using the TM I had to skip whole exercises because they were closing.

Does that 120-180 minutes count having to shave your body so people wont leave the gym screaming? :D

That's in my prep hour pre gym were I eat my meal and make my BCAA shake and put my post workout meal in a Tupperware for me to eat while I stretch (it's because I'm hungry Doc, not because I still believe in the anabolic window) that's when I do the neccasary shaving
