Meso Powerlifting Corner

I should have mine before the week is over. I have a little experience with wraps, but none with sleeves.

I think you'll like sleeves much better for training. I rarely break out my wraps anymore. Sleeves can be worn throughout the entire squat session with no problems. They aren't going to provide the lb increase of wraps, but I feel like they are good for 10-20 lbs or so depending on how tight you go. I've gotten so lazy that the last time I broke my wraps out, I wrapped over my sleeves. Depending on how old you are and how creaky your joints are you'll wonder why you ever squatted without them.

I hate using wraps, but I compete with them, so I break them out a few times when I'm about a month out and at the meet and then they sit until next year.

So Im going to be living through you guys for a while. Ive had some medical issues pop up that may or may not be serious. Im trying not to leave the gym all together, but when I go ill definetly be taking it easy. No PRs or really heavy lifting for the time being. Im going to try to work with 50-70% if possible for the time being.

So when youre up at 80%+ get a rep for me.
Damn brother. I hope everything turns out in your favor, and its nothing serious. Keep us posted.

Ordered the Matt chan rogue barbell from rogue online, gonna go out tomorrow and pick myself up some weights so that way if my gyms closed I'm never gonna miss a workout again! I won't be able to afford everything I want but I've got a little extra cash and it's enough for a start up. Now I just need to find the squat rack I want to put this all in :D

You used the Chan bar before? It's pretty nice but I don't like it much for deadlifts.

No I haven't used the chan before I'm making the purchase for a all around weightlifting bar something that I can clean with and also powerlift with. Picked he chan for the added inside space as my shins get destroyed by the bar regularly and my natural grip is 20.5inches apart and the chan is 21 inches for the knurling so it would make my setup quicker

It will be a great bar for general weightlifting. My only complaint is the knurling spacing. I pull sumo a lot and the spacing isn't great for that. Otherwise it's a great bar. It has nice break/whip to it once you get some lbs on it for deadlifting.

Ya I only pull conventional for heavy weight my body isn't made for sumo so the added space will be nice to stop the cheese grader effect on my shins

Back in the game after 4 days in the hospital having tests run on me. 4 days with no food or water...at all. Dropped from 241 to 229. :(
Ill spend a day or so getting some carbs and cals in me and see what kind of weight I can move as a skinny guy.

Everything looking alright health-wise? The weight will be back in no time.

It comes back quick brother. Get that fork working and you'll be GTG in no time.

Thanks all.

So to get back on track Im getting back in the gym today. Didnt do any of my program last week. Starting with squats which I was killing before. Hopefully my weight loss doesnt equal weight loss.

Side note: I found my last session that its more comfortable squatting in socks than chucks. So Ive pretty much ditched the chucks all together.
