Meso Powerlifting Corner

Thanks. And welcome. Always good to have another PLer with some knowledge and experience around (and some impressive ass numbers).
Watch out for @Docd187123, he is smart, motivating, hard working etc., but he also has some sort of evil plan for powerlifters that I havent figured out yet.
Also one of our members is an actual bear.

Thanks man glad to be here. An actual bear huh? Well ironically my nickname is White Bear at my gym LOL. So I may give him a run for his money.

I hit a new PR on my deadlift on Friday AFTER my 60% speed squats and speed pulls! 475 for a perfect single! It was a 50lb PR up from October. If I had access to a REAL deadlift bar that would have been 500lbs. I WANT THAT 500 LB DEADLIFT!!! Not gunna lie, the TNE definitely helped. I want to lift something heavy that day.:D

Good work brother. 50lbs in 3 months is great, you're obviously grinding so keep it up!

Also Ive decided to be lazy. Since we are both doing westside Im going to wait for you to post and just copy your training. Except instead of chains Im going to use midgets or kids hanging on the barbell. Its cheaper.
Well, you've subbed my log, so that has all my main movements. Guess I'll be more vigilant in adding the accessory work so you can be strong like bull!

@acoll83 What training program or philosophy do you currently use?

I keep it simple man.. I don't use bands or chains or bench blocks and rarely do box squats. I stick to the main lifts with high volume. For squatting I do a lot of paused sets. Same with benching, wide/close grip. For deads I'll do block pulls or some sumo rdls (I pull sumo).

I went to a seminar with Gunz Griffin when I first started powerlifting and he told me if I want a stronger bench to just bench more. I've stuck to that and it works for me. My coach also has the same opinion.

Nice, I'm also a keep it simple guy. You've got almost 100lbs on me total wise, but I've gotten where I am mostly just doing the big three and doing them often. I'm about to try Sheiko out for a couple months and it's got some chain work, so should be interesting since I've never used them.

Questions for anyone here: Whats the most times youre squatting in a week and what variations do you use? Thanks.
I do twice weekly. Max Effort movement varies A LOT depending where the weak point on my squat seems to be. Dynamic Effort/speed work is with different bar setups with bands and/or chains.

Which Sheiko are you looking at that has bands?

Finally pulled 405 off the floor and felt really good. Upped to 435 and got it!!! New pr
