Meso Powerlifting Corner

So for age range, I fit into either open (13-dead) or Submaster (35-39)...which am I supposed to choose?

I would suggest open unless you're going for a record in Submaster or you just want to compete against less people. My workout partner entered Master 220 (he's 40) and took first place because he was the only one in that division. Open is going to be the most competitive with the most people. I noticed the guy that took first at my last meet was entered in both open and master.

I ended up just paying a little extra and doing both. I figure I can compete in open and if all else fails (which it will), feel good if I dont come in last place in submaster.
I think you'll be surprised. Most of the guys in this thread are pretty damn strong and you got two months. Guys like us on meso can do a lot in two months, knowutimean?

Im gonna try. I actually gotta dial it back a little. Ive been hurting my training using high %s lately and going for PRs. I end up sore, tired, and injured too much. So now I gotta really stick to the plan. And keep working on my form, especially when it comes to competition pauses.

I figure its gonna come down to the other peoples form / experience vs my massive roid strength this time.

I struggle with the same thing. Always pushing to the limits every workout, and eventually you end up broken down and sometimes worse off. I've gotten better recently at making my self deload. Idk if it will help but you can check out some of the lilliebridge's techniques of peaking before meets. I've never tried any of it, mainly because they get pretty advanced and I haven't had competition aspirations in a year or two. Mastering competition form will be critical as well.

Alright question for the bros, I'm in my Deload week and wondering if I should go Tuesday-Friday and just work one lift at 50% or do Wednesday and Friday the big 3 Wednesday @50% 4x3 Friday at 30% 4x3 (training a personal trainer at my old gym Friday so I was just going to use her weights and show he motions if you guys think I shouldn't lift I'll just video her and correct that way) for my meet on Sunday?

PS @jaymaximus im not really good with change and your AVI is different again and I'm tweekin man

Wednesday and Friday 4x3@50% for all three lifts in my opinion.

Also, I agree, change is bad.
