Meso Powerlifting Corner

I do
135x8
225x6
315x4
405x2
Then whatever my working weight is for a 3x3
Thanks! I haven't gotten there yet, but I'm working up the courage to try 405 next week.
This week was
135x10
225x6
315x5

The rest of my lifts are starting to come up now too, just not as fast.

Deadlift is the number 1 builder in my books. Nothing's more manly then a huge ass deadlift. For yourself maybe look at doing
135x8
205x6
295x4
Then do your working sets of whatever it is in the 3-5 rep range for 3-4 sets

I'll try that. The gym I go to there aren't any real big lifters there, and when I put 3 plates on and pulled it like I did, I noticed there were several sets of eyes on me.
My goal is to become the guy there that can move that heavy weight around....the right way.

My current gym is like that nobody I've seen has pulled more then 2 plates and I'm using 4 and a quarter for reps everybody stairs but I make sure I wear a hat and huge headphones so no one talks to me

No shit??? I'll look around and see if I can't pick up a set. I never dreamed wraps would add that much. I figured I'd have to be at 545 with sleeves before 585 was possible

Yessir good luck finding them though @Perrin Aybara has been trying to get them but according to him PB is out of stock.

I check their website daily and at first was in contact with their customer support, but they just suddenly stopped replying. I'll keep you updated, Rob. You might try your own luck with them and do the same for me if you have any luck and maybe we can score a couple pairs.

The Executioners sound interesting, too. Supposedly a more stretchy version of the Death Rows. Not that it matters since every single wrap in 2.5m is out of stock anyway.

I'm going to keep using my SBD 2.5s for now. Just get used to the feel and I'll keep my eye for them for sure. If I happen to come across them you'll be the first to know

Very similar to my warm-up, u may do an extra rep here and there.

If I am going into the 5+ plate area I lower my warm up reps to
135x5
225x3
315x1
385x1
445x1
495x1 and then whatever I plan to pull for my max attempts.

I do a few more warm up reps during my training days because my actuall deadlift working sets only have 9 reps total as it's a 3x3

Depending on how pressed I am for time I like to do a few dynamic stretches before a deadlift session. Then go up one plate at a time until I get near my weight for the day and then make smaller jumps.

135x5
225x5
315x5
405x3-5
495x1-3
Then 25-50lb jumps towards my top set depending on what I'm doing. If I'm working below 500 I'll just go straight from 405 to whatever top set I'm doing.

Now that sounds exactly how I warm up. I've been trying to pull up to 5 plates as often as possible. Even with a 565 PR 495 and up doesn't always happen.

By 315 I'm usually pulling triples , anything over 50% of what I'm shooting for if I plan on going heavy. Depending on bar speed at 405 I can usually tell exactly how the day is gonna go and I'll single up in small increments to a top set of 2 or a single heavy pull.

Are you missing reps that you could normally hit?
Yea, my last two deadlift sessions have been garbage. Old injury in my back is irritated and I'm also on pct right now. That's why I asked about your cruise dose. Cruising at 120 would probably feel much better than the next few weeks will for me. But hrt isn't a direction I'm looking into anytime soon.

I'm sitting at around a 565 max and I train currently around the 455 mark for triples. I don't think that pulling near maxes helps very much at all, 80-85% is the training zone for me any higher and I might miss a rep and if you follow the best deadlifters in the world none of them miss reps in training, like ever.

Yeah, too early for you. I didn't realize you were so young until you posted your age the other day.

Get more volume in with lower weights. When you're pulling big weight it's easy to burn out going too heavy all the time.

I've only pulled 500+ from the floor three times since my meet in January. Once for easy singles around 525-535, the second time worked up to that 585 and the last at my mock meet where I missed 600.

Also, @RodgerThat is correct, never miss reps in training. That 600 I missed was the first deadlift I'd missed in almost a year. 60-80% 1Rm is your bread and butter range.

I agree. Vary rarely do I pull over 85%.
